The first qualifying heats have been run at the Franciacorta Karting Track. Heats will continue on Saturday to define the finalists for Sunday, February 18th.

Crowned European KZ Champion in July with Danilo Albanese, the KR Motorsport team has now won the supreme title of FIA Karting World Champion - KZ with Paolo Ippolito. KR chassis and IAME engines confirmed their very high potential in the gearbox categories. At Wackersdorf, Stan Pex (SP Motorsport) completed the podium in the premier class and Alex Powell finished 2nd in the KZ2 World Cup, while Kean Nakamura-Berta set the fastest lap of the race. KR Motorsport won the FIA Karting team title in KZ and Prema Racing was runner-up in KZ2 in its first year.

The FIA Karting European OK and OK-Junior Championships ended on a high note for the KR Global Motorsport Company group at Cremona: a hat-trick of OK-Junior titles in the Final and overall standings with Bondarev, Ramaekers and Martinese, as well as a double podium in OK with Tarnvanichkul and Nakamura-Berta, while Powell finished 3rd in the Championship! It's important to remember that above all it's thanks to the quality of the equipment and the competitiveness of the drivers that the Italian brand manages to remain at the top of the world hierarchy. In addition to Albanese's coronation, the two Italian drivers won their places on the podium at Sarno in the premier class. And in KZ2, the results of Alex Powell and Kean Nakamura-Berta kept Prema Racing in 2nd place in the team standings.

The second and final Round of the FIA ​​European Championship of the KZ and KZ2 categories took place on the Sarno circuit; CRG and Jeremy Iglesias got there with the opportunity to win the title in the top class, after the victory in Round 1 in Spain. Unfortunately, however, the French driver, despite a solid weekend, closed the Final only in P5 behind Danilo Albanese who, on the other hand, had scored more points in the qualifying stages and in the Final he obtained P2, thus conquering the Championship success.

The temperature rose a few more degrees at Sarno on Sunday as the Finals of the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 supported by Mondokart.com got underway. Gradually set up during the Super Heats, the scenario unfolded without a hitch until the end of the Finals with Gustafsson (SWE) winning and Albanese (ITA) crowned in KZ, while Slater (GBR) took victory and the title in KZ2.

The FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 is preparing to crown the first champions of the season at its second event from 6th to 9th July 2023 on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Sarno in Italy.
