Karting front-runner Gianna Pascoal will make the step up to UK single-seater racing with Pace Performance in next weekend’s GB4 Winter Series at Snetterton.
The 16-year-old South African driver has established herself as one of the country’s leading karting talents, having finished as runner-up in both the ROK and Rotax National Series.
She began karting at the age of 11, backed by four-time world karting champion Wesleigh Orr, and worked her way through the ranks, ultimately progressing to international level competition.
Gianna is the first South African woman selected for the FIA Karting Academy senior category, and has also competed in the ROK Cup Superfinal and the WSK Super Master Series.
She subsequently earned a place in the More than Equal Driver Development Programme, one of six drivers globally to have been selected, gaining valuable F4-level experience in the process. Gianna has also gained more seat time in MSA4 machinery in South Africa.
She will now make her European racing debut at the GB4 Winter Series with the Pace Performance team, which made huge strides forward in its second GB4 campaign in 2026, with four race victories and four additional podium finishes.
Gianna Pascoal: “I’m really excited to be joining Pace Performance for my first Winter Series! I can’t wait to push my limits, test my skills, and see what I can achieve this season. Let’s go!”
Team Principal Sean Byrne: “We’re really pleased that Gianna will be racing with Pace Performance for the upcoming GB4 Winter Series. Gianna’s international karting experience coupled with a true passion for racing brings a real high-energy drive, and we’re confident this will be sure to impress on track.”
