Kart Republic: KR chassis omnipresent at the front of the field in KZ

Having already set the fastest time in his group during Friday morning’s Free Practice, Danilo Albanese was awarded the pole position trophy a few hours later with a magnificent lap of 50.867 seconds. A time the Italian driver improved upon further to 50.687 seconds in Saturday’s warm-up! SP Motorsport driver Stan Pex joined the battle for victory, as the Dutchman won a heat and then the Super Heat ahead of Danilo Albanese. After a high-intensity Final, both drivers found themselves on the podium: Stan in 2nd place and Danilo in 3rd. Pex will arrive at Sarno as the leader of the European KZ Championship, with Albanese in 3rd place, just six points behind.

Arthur Lehouck’s outstanding performance in KZ2

Arthur Lehouck made a strong impression in Belgium. He started by setting the fastest time in his group in Free Practice, securing pole position with a time of 50.865 seconds and setting another fastest lap during his warm-up on Saturday morning. His four victories in the heats and the Super Heat, coupled with two fastest laps, earned him pole position on the grid for the Final. Unfortunately, a minor technical issue regrettably prevented him from fighting for victory. However, the points from his 5th-place finish place him in an impressive 2nd position in the Championship ahead of the trip to Italy.

His team-mate James Anagnostiadis was looking to gain experience in his first year in KZ2. Often quick and finishing P5 in one heat, he laid solid foundations for the rest of the season.

Comment from Dino Chiesa, head of KR Global Motorsport Company

“We had only three drivers competing under the KR Motorsport banner at Genk, but that didn’t stop us from securing both pole positions. We then expected a tough race with strong competition, and that’s exactly what we got. Danilo Albanese put up a good fight to finish 3rd in KZ. We also had two KR chassis on the podium thanks to the performances of Stan Pex and his SP Motorsport team, which deserve special mention. In KZ2, Arthur Lehouck is now 2nd in the European Championship following his magnificent performance. I congratulate the whole team on their excellent work in Belgium. We will continue development ahead of Sarno, a circuit where Danilo Albanese became European Champion in 2023.”
