The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine officially kicked off its third race weekend of the 2025 season at Circuit Zandvoort, with the first Pre-Event Collective Test taking place this morning under dry conditions. Despite the looming clouds and a steady breeze sweeping across the North Sea dunes, the track remained dry throughout the 90-minute session, allowing all 26 drivers to gather valuable data on one of the calendar’s most challenging venues.

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine returns to action this weekend at Zandvoort for Round 3 of the 2025 season. A regular fixture on the Formula 1 calendar, the Dutch venue is known for its flowing layout and banked corners nestled in the dunes, stretching 4.259 km through the North Sea coast. Rodin Motorsport’s Alex Ninovic and VRD Racing’s Hugo Schwarze were the winners on Sunday at Zandvoort, while Australian drivers have taken over at the top of the championship standings. Ninovic claimed his first GB3 victory in race two this morning, while Schwarze took his own maiden win after a chaotic final contest. Australian trio Patrick Heuzenroeder, Ninovic and Noah Lisle fill the top-three in the standings heading to Spa-Francorchamps in a fortnight’s time.

Patrick Heuzenroeder claimed a first GB3 Championship victory both for himself and the Xcel Motorsport team in the first race of the weekend at Zandvoort. July was a busy month for the Eurocup3 single-seater championship, with no fewer than three events held in the space of four weeks. Swiss driver Dario Cabanelas was able to continue his progress in three different countries and on three leading European circuits: Paul Ricard in France, Zandvoort in the Netherlands and Motorland Aragon in Spain. With the MP Motorsport team, Dario enjoyed a number of satisfying experiences, particularly during the Qualifying sessions, but also fell victim to incidents which deprived him of deserved results.

Hitech Pulse Eight’s Tymek Kucharczyk and VRD Racing by Arden’s Nikita Johnson were the winners in Sunday’s races at Zandvoort. Kucharczyk regained the championship lead with his fourth win of the year in race two this morning, while Johnson celebrated his first-ever win in Europe with his race three triumph. 

JHR Developments’ John Bennett enjoyed his best day in the GB3 Championship, with a double pole position in qualifying, and his second race win of the year in the opening contest this afternoon. In doing so, Bennett massively strengthened his title bid, with just 18 points now covering the top-four drivers in the current standings.

Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Tymek Kucharczyk topped the times in the final test session of the week at Zandvoort on Friday afternoon, which was heavily rain affected.
