On a warm afternoon with stable track conditions, the Belgian rookie, who is competing in his first season in single-seater racing, stopped the clocks at 1:39.107, further underlining his rapid adaptation to the category.
 

The first official outing of the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine came to a close this afternoon at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with the fourth and final session of the two-day pre-season collective test.

CL Motorsport, the Italian racing team based in Desenzano del Garda, announced Zachary David as the first driver for its 2025 line-up in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA). This marks an exciting milestone as the team embarks on its inaugural season in the highly competitive championship.

The 2024 season of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine comes to a close with another victory for champion Rafael Camara (Prema Racing). The Ferrari Driver Academy driver wraps up his year in the best way possible, cementing his status as the record-holder in this championship.

It was a perfect race for James Wharton at the Red Bull Ring, where the Prema Racing driver, after starting from pole, managed to stay in control from the first to the last lap, securing his second victory of the season in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, achieving this result during the 75th race in the history of the series. Applause also went to Evan Giltaire, who, driving one of ART Grand Prix’s cars, staged a sensational comeback, rising from twelfth to second place after challenging Wharton in the final corners.

The iconic and fascinating Dutch circuit, which allows no room for error, witnessed Tuukka Taponen (R-ace GP) celebrating his first victory in the series on the podium today.

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine was under the spotlight this morning at Zandvoort with the first Collective Test of the event. With sunny weather and a dry track, it was Rafael Camara (Prema Racing) who set the fastest time of the session, clocking in at a remarkable 1’30”985.

Finnish driver Tuukka Taponen showcased his solid aptitude around the French track’s corners, clocking the fastest lap time of 1’57”492 in his R-ace GP car.
 

The afternoon in Barcelona unfolded with the last two sessions of the tests, marking the official start of the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine season. The penultimate session kicked off right after the lunch break, with Sainteloc Racing’s Theophile Naël setting the pace, recording the best time of 1:37.583. Close behind the French driver, Brando Badoer (Van Amersfoort Racing) performed well, finishing less than three-tenths of a second off the pace.

Ferrari Driver Academy talent Tuukka Taponen became the 2024 Formula Regional Middle East Champion (FRMEC) in the final round at Dubai Autodrome. Victory in Saturday’s opening race of the weekend for R-ace GP’s 17-year-old Finnish star was enough to put him beyond reach of his only remaining title rival, Taylor Barnard, and for good measure, Taponen put on a dominant display in Sunday’s season finale to further underline his superiority with another win.

The Formula Regional Middle East Championship certified by FIA (FRMEC) was the domain of the sensational Tuukka Taponen over the course of the second round on the full 5.281km Formula 1 layout of the Yas Marina Circuit. The 17-year-old Finn, who is backed by the Ferrari Driver Academy, topped both qualifying sessions and then drove his R-ace GP car to his first two victories in the category.
