The second day of testing at the La Conca International Circuit in Muro Leccese saw Mercedes F1 driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli take to the track. He was among the 323 participants registered for the Official Collective Tests organized by WSK Promotion ahead of the start of the racing season.

The MP Group has further expanded its karting activities by acquiring the legendary karting circuit Karting Genk. To this end, MP owner Henk de Jong reached an agreement with the Lemmens family, who opened the outdoor track at Horensbergdam in 1983 and have owned it ever since. MP, best known in the Netherlands for its leading Formula racing team MP Motorsport, has been working for several years to grow its presence in karting—the foundation of the talent ladder that MP Motorsport offers all the way up to Formula 2.

Noah Wolfe will benefit from continued valuable support from VAR by Birel in his quest for honours in a multitude of kart championships around Europe next year.

The Nissan Formula E Team will line up with Gabriele Minì for the upcoming Rookie Free Practice session, which takes place in Saudi Arabia later this month ahead of the first-ever Jeddah E-Prix.

Another long, intense year of racing is ending, and the time has come to take stock for the Sauber Academy drivers. Théo Pourchaire, Zane Maloney, and Carrie Schreiner kept active throughout 2024, racing on some of the world's most renowned circuits representing Sauber Motorsport's driver development programme in their respective campaigns.
 

A busy couple of months saw the Sauber Academy fully engaged with their respective campaigns, as well as training and taking part in testing sessions, travelling to historic European circuits and to the United States.

Sauber Academy is set to further expand its roster of young talents in 2024, as Zane Maloney is announced as the latest inductee of the team’s driver development programme. The young Barbadian will also take on the role of Reserve Driver for Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber at several Grands Prix during the 2024 Formula One season, sharing the duties with fellow Sauber Academy driver, Théo Pourchaire.

Williams Racing Academy Driver Zak O’Sullivan will take part in the first Free Practice session at the 2023 Formula 1® Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The 2023 Formula 3 Vice Champion will get behind the wheel of Alex Albon’s FW45 at Yas Marina Circuit for the hour session. Zak’s outing, his first in the FW45, fulfills the team’s second and final mandated rookie driver session this season.

The Karting Champions League is the new player within the karting world where its basis, arrive & drive, is unique for a championship. Everyone in each of the five classes races the same kart with the same set-up, the engines are changed every weekend and for a fixed amount per year.

MP Motorsport's Formula 2 and 3 teams travelled to Monza this weekend as support series of the Formula 1 circus. For the Formula 3 team this was the season finale, which could not have gone better for the team from the Netherlands.  The qualifying session on Friday was a tricky one, due to numerous red flags it was decided that the session would not be finished with 10 minutes to go. As a result, Jonny Edgar qualified fourth, which was his best result this season. Mari Boya and Franco Colapinto finished in 15th and 16th positions, but disqualifications promoted them to P11 and P12.

The FIA Formula 2 Championship will be back on track on the Jeddah street circuit. Trident Motorsport is set for a new challenge coming from the win secured with Richard Verschoor in round 1 in Bahrain.
 

Displaying tousled blonde hair and a boyish Kiwi grin, the softly spoken Liam Lawson is part of a new era of Kiwi motor racers. This is the story of a 19-year-old from New Zealand. The Red Bull Junior has been on the pathway to success since he first got behind the wheel, initially in go-karts and then graduating to his first race in a car at Formula First at the age of 12. This season Lawson is stepping up to Formula 2 with Hitech Grand Prix.

Alpine Academy driver Guanyu Zhou has re-signed with UNI-Virtuosi Racing for a third season, with the British team confirming that the Chinese driver will compete for them alongside Felipe Drugovich in the 2021 Formula 2 campaign.

It was a difficult race but for sure a memorable one for Mick Schumacher at Bahrain International Circuit. The German driver, who started his career in karting, capitalized on his outstanding season to secure the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship at the end of a drama-filled race.
 

A tight and spectacular sprint race handed PREMA Racing a double points finish at Red Bull Ring as the FIA Formula 2 Championship rounded out its first weekend of the year. After cruising to his first series podium in race 1, Robert Shwartzman took fourth place making the most of the situation on the Austrian circuit. Once again, having trains of cars on DRS made attacking really difficult, and the lengthy safety-car situations added up to that. The 20-year-old Russian exits the weekend second in championship points.

French racing driver Anthoine Hubert (22 September 1996 – 31 August 2019) died today after a major crash in the Formula 2 at the track of Spa-Francorchamps during the Belgium Grand Prix-weekend. Hubert was involved in a serious crash with Juan Manuel Correa on lap 2 of the 2019 Spa-Francorchamps Formula 2 feature race. After being transported to the circuit medical center post-crash, he died from his injuries. Like many young drivers, Hubert started his career in karting.
