A total of 646 athletes from 82 countries will compete in no fewer than 26 categories, a significant increase from the 16 categories of last time in France and the six categories of the first edition in Italy. The Rally category has been expanded from three to nine categories, while GT Single Make, Esports F4, Karting Mini and Cross Car Mini are also new.

W Series, the international single-seater motor racing championship for female drivers only, is pleased to announce the inauguration of an all-new W Series Esports League for female racing drivers only. Partnering with Logitech G (a global leader in PC and console gaming gear), Beyond Entertainment (a community-driven organisation that specialises in hosting high-calibre tournaments) and iRacing (the leading esports simulation platform), the W Series Esports League will commence its sim racing season in the coming weeks in the current absence of on-track motor racing anywhere in the world. A brand-new initiative, the W Series Esports League aims to inaugurate, publicise, promote and empower a shared commitment to raising female sim racing visibility in order to encourage more women and girls everywhere to take up eracing, thereby opening up a new world of equality and diversity in what has previously been seen as a predominantly male-dominated activity

No Formula One! No karting, but e-sports! Max Verstappen recorded three podiums from four races in a standout debut performance in today’s second round of the Australian Supercars All-Stars Eseries. With all major sporting events on hold, the Australian Supercars Series is currently producing one of the world’s most exciting Esports championships and for the first time a wildcard was invited to join the second round – our very own Max Verstappen. Max was invited to drive a Red Bull Holden alongside Shane van Gisbergen and Jamie Whincup. Shane and Max regularly race online together – and the duo did not disappoint.

The rise of former F1 Esports racer Igor Fraga continued after he was announced as the newest recruit in the Red Bull Junior programme. The news comes after the Japan-born Brazilian took victory in the Toyota Racing Series (TRS) in New Zealand and secured an FIA F3 seat with Charouz in February.

On the last weekend of January, Offenbach am Main in Germany was once again the centre of the karting world. The classic IKA Kartmesse trade fair hosted the world's largest kart exhibition for the 28th time, although in this new decade, the exhibition presented itself on a slightly smaller scale than in previous years. For the first time, the fair only opened six instead of seven halls.
