The qualifying heats of the WSK Final Cup named the first candidates to the win in Cremona

The initial heats of the weekend of Cremona named the first protagonists. The program will continue on Saturday with the remaining heats, while the final stages will be on Sunday, November 9th.      


Following the morning qualifying sessions, the heats on Friday afternoon, November 8th, highlighted the first contenders for success in the WSK Final Cup at Cremona Circuit. This year, the second round of the WSK Final Cup international series is proving highly successful in terms of participation; after the 357 drivers in the previous round at Franciacorta, 336 drivers are competing in this second event. The heats will continue throughout the day on Saturday, November 8th, while the final phase, featuring the Prefinals and Finals for all categories, will take place on Sunday, November 9th.



 

The first heats.

KZ2 – Bertuca is strong.

In the first KZ2 heat, Cristian Bertuca (Birelart Racing-Birelart/TM Kart/LeCont) immediately returned to form with a victory, after the Italian driver had conceded first position in qualifying to the Czech Marek Skrivan (CPB Sport-Sodikart/TM Kart). The other protagonist of the event, Daniel Vasile (CL Racing Team-Birelart/TM Kart), finished third. Massimiliano Pezzucchi (Krypton Motorsport-Birelart/TM Kart) was fourth, ahead of the German David Trefilov (Formula K SRP-IPK/TM Kart).

 

OK – Pesl and Bottaro are the two winners of the heats.

In the two OK heats, victory went to the Czech Jindrich Pesl (Tony Kart Racing Team-Tony Kart/Vortex/LeCont), who had already stood out in qualifying with the fastest time, and the Italian Davide Bottaro (Lenovo Kalì Kart Team-Kalì Kart/TM Kart). In the first heat A-B, Pesl finished ahead of the Scotsman Zac Drummond (Fusion Motorsport-KR/Iame), while in the second heat C-D, Bottaro secured the success over the German Luke Kornder (Ricky Flynn-LN Kart/TM Kart).

 

OKJ – Arias and Green are the initial leaders.

The Spaniard Bosco Arias (Ricky Flynn-LN Kart/TM Kart/Vega) secured the victory in the first heat A-B ahead of the Indian Sini Rito Olivieri (Tony Kart Racing Team-Tony Kart/Vortex) after setting the fastest time in qualifying Session 2. In the final stages, the Englishman Will Green (Prema Racing-KR/Iame) won the second heat C-D ahead of the Italian Gioele Girardello (Parolin Motorsport-Parolin/TM Kart). 

 

MINI U10 – Burgess and Kovtunenko to the attack.

New protagonists are emerging in the MINI U10 category compared to what the qualifying sessions had indicated. In heat A-B, the American Zayne Burgess (Parolin Motorsport-Parolin/TM kart/Vega) won with a comeback, finishing ahead of his compatriot Wynn Godschalk (Kidix-KR/Iame). In heat C-D, the Ukrainian Platon Kovtunenko (Borsch Racing-KR/Iame) prevailed, also at the end of a comeback, over the Finn Eetu Koramo (Parolin Finland-Parolin/TM Kart).



 

MINI Gr.3 – Gessesse and Perico have the upper hand.

An accident brought the pole-sitter Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio (Kidix-KR/Iame/Vega) to a halt, forcing him to retire from the first heat A-B. The heat was won by the Kenyan Bwana Gessesse (BabyRace-Parolin/Iame) ahead of his teammate, the Italian Filippo Frigerio. In heat C-D, victory went to Niccolò Perico (Team Driver-KR/Iame), with the Italian finishing first across the line ahead of the Frenchman Stan Ratajski (BabyRace-Parolin/Iame). 

 

OK-N Junior – Confirmation for Williams, Chelidze recovers.

In the OK-N Junior category, in heat A-B, the Englishman Harry Williams (Forza Racing-Exprit/TM Kart/Vega) confirmed his strong performance from qualifying and won the race ahead of the American Lucas Palacio (KR Motorsport-KR/Iame). Heat C-D saw a victory for the Georgian Leon Chelidze (CRG Racing Team-CRG/TM Kart) at the end of a great comeback, finishing ahead of the Lithuanian Nojus Stasionis (Modena Kart-Parolin/TM Kart).

 

OK-N – Ferrari is on top.

In the single OK-N heat, victory went to Lamberto Ferrari (FK Motorsport-IPK/Modena Engines/Vega), ahead of fellow Italians Giulio Mazzolini (Zanchi Motorsport-Tony Kart/TM Kart) and the winner of the last Franciacorta round, Nicolas Marchesi (Team Driver-KR/Iame). The Pole Juliusz Ociepa (Novalux-Lenzokart/LKE), who had already proven to be the fastest in qualifying practice, was penalized 3 seconds and lost the first place he had conquered under the chequered flag.
