After Friday’s Qualifying Heats established the leading contenders, Round 4 of the Champions of the Future Euro Series reached its decisive stage at the 1,221-metre Asum Ring in Kristianstad.
Saturday brought scattered clouds, air temperatures of 20–21°C and a dry circuit for the Superheats and Finals. With places in the Finals and crucial championship points at stake, the penultimate round produced major recoveries, late penalties and an extraordinary three-driver finish.
Three drivers, less than a tenth
The opening OK Junior Superheat was transformed by first-lap chaos. Leonardo Gorski, Teo Pelfrene and Gioele Girardello were eliminated, while Many Nuvolini and Emerson MacAndrew-Uren also retired after contact at Turn 6. Matvei Dergunov took full advantage, winning from ninth ahead of Antonio Pizzonia and Jarlath Sayer. Zack Zhu held off Martin Luis Bertolaccini in Superheat 2, securing his first Superheat victory and first Final pole position of the season.
Daniel Miron Lorente took control of the Final on lap nine, but Pizzonia erased a gap of approximately 1.1 seconds and brought Priam Bruno into contention. The three entered Turn 7 together on the final lap, with Miron Lorente holding his line to become the fourth different OK Junior Final winner of 2026.
The official margin between Miron Lorente and Pizzonia was 0.093 seconds. Bruno finished only 0.004 seconds further behind, placing all three drivers within one tenth at the chequered flag. Miguel Manzano Suarez produced another standout performance, climbing from 33rd to 14th despite a five-second penalty and setting the fastest lap with a 51.811.
Baglin takes control
Benjamin Manach controlled the opening OK Superheat to earn Final pole. Noah Baglin charged through the field to win Superheat 2 ahead of Zac Drummond and Asher Ochstein, setting up another fight between the championship contenders.
Manach led the first eight laps of the Final before Henry Domain briefly moved ahead. Baglin passed Domain on lap ten and controlled the remainder of the race to complete a Superheat and Final double.
Dean Hoogendoorn delivered the drive of the day. Starting 23rd, he gained 21 positions to cross the line second. However, a five-second penalty for an incorrectly positioned front fairing and another five seconds for completely leaving the starting corridor dropped him to 14th in the official classification.
Drummond was consequently classified second, 2.640 seconds behind Baglin, while Domain was promoted to an emotional first podium in third. William Calleja finished fourth, only 0.069 seconds behind Domain, with Gabriel Canal completing the top five.
Everything to play for in Sarno
Baglin leaves Kristianstad at the top of the OK standings with 258 points. Drummond follows on 234, with James Anagnostiadis five points further back. Bruno continues to lead OK Junior with 258 points, ahead of Will Green on 236 and Miron Lorente on 227.
