The COTF for OK and OK Junior categories take place in Sweden this weekend

On the Kristianstad circuit, the long preparation begins for the FIA World Championship OK and OK Junior, scheduled from September 11 to 14. After the test sessions held in August and last weekend, from today until Sunday the 7th, the 5th round of the Champions of The Future is on the program—a race that will exactly replicate the format of the World Championship.

The meeting includes 4 days of racing, with free practice on Thursday, qualifying and heats between Friday and Saturday, and then concluding with the Super Heats and Finals on Sunday. This race will be a full dress rehearsal for the following week, and all drivers and teams will work to optimize their potential, focusing especially on setup.

The CRG Racing Team will compete with a total of 7 drivers: 2 in OK Junior and 5 in OK. As announced last week, in OK Junior there will be the return to the team of Asher Ochstein, who in last week’s tests was among the fastest, immediately finding an excellent feeling with the chassis-engine package. Alongside the American will be Spaniard Manuel Miguez, also expected to be among the frontrunners after his excellent performances in the last European Championship races. Both drivers will race with Iame engines by BM Motors.

In the top OK class, the CRG Racing Team will line up Viktor Gustavsson, winner of the last round of the European Championship ahead of his teammate Davide Bottaro. Both confirmed strong potential in testing and will compete with TM engines, as will Brazilian Christian Mosimann. Completing the CRG lineup with Iame engines are Frenchman Clovis Nougueyrede and multi-time Brazilian champion Olin Galli.

Team Principal Jeremy Iglesias introduced the event as follows:

“The goal of this weekend’s race will be to work in preparation for the World Championship next week, so we will have a very clear approach from this perspective. The drivers are aware that every kilometer we complete can help us, and that we must follow a work program, both for some chassis tests and for engine tests. Therefore, the result will not be important for us, but rather gathering as much information as possible for the World Championship. The tests were very positive, we are aware that we have good potential and that we have done a good job, both in the factory and on the track. The contribution and experience of Viktor and Olin, who has joined the team for this event, will be very useful, and we will work together as a team to maximize our full potential.”
