The 2020 season has been completely unlike any other. All kart races on French soil have been cancelled in the wake of the latest government decisions. However, the world championships in the OK and OK-Junior categories will go ahead as scheduled, unless there is some last-minute upset, next weekend (6-8 November) at Portimao in the south of Portugal. Arthur Rogeon from the Pays de la Loire region is one of France’s hopes in the Junior category, and he is already on the spot like the majority of his rivals in this eagerly-awaited world championship event. In the Algarve he raced in the second and last round of the Champions of the Future Series to play himself in. Make no mistake, the Exprit Racing Team driver is primed and raring to go!

At the end of the spectacular Finals, the Frenchman Jeremy Iglesias was crowned FIA Karting World Champion - KZ. The Italian Simone Cunati won the FIA Karting International Super Cup - KZ2 and the Israel's Ariel Elkin won the FIA Karting Academy Trophy Final, while the American Connor Zilisch won the Trophy.

The evolution of the weather situation has again played an important role in the 18 Qualifying Heats held on Saturday, 3rd October at Lonato. The heavy rain in the morning was followed by sunny weather that allowed the track to dry out. Kremers (NLD) managed to keep the advantage in KZ, Giannoni (ITA) leads in KZ2 and Gubenko in the Academy.

The World Karting Championship will kick off on Wednesday, September 18th at the South Garda Karting circuit. The Live Timing feed will be active since free practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Qualifying will follow on Friday, heats on Saturday and Sunday morning as the finals will close the event on Sunday afternoon.

Last weekend, the South Garda Circuit in Italian Lonato welcomed the participants of the German Kart Championship to the first event of the year. 187 participants made for record fields in the four kart racing grade series of the German Motorsports Foundation (DMSB). The protagonists and the program of the events that will end on Sunday February 17th. The Winter Cup, race to be held in Lonato del Garda (Brescia, Italy), is all set for another important event, with 319 drivers from all over the world entered in this 24th edition. These record numbers confirm the importance of this race which marks the opening of the International season.
