Frasnelli and Pesl Take Control as Superheat Grids Are Set at La Conca

Friday at La Conca saw the completion of an intense qualifying heats programme for the opening round of the Champions of the Future season, with drivers tackling a packed schedule of races across the day. Conditions shifted multiple times throughout the morning, with intermittent rain and a constantly changing track surface forcing teams into difficult decisions. As the day progressed, the circuit eventually dried for the second half, bringing slick tyres fully into play but still offering limited grip in key areas. With dozens of races shaping the standings, consistency, decision-making and adaptability became just as important as speed in determining the order ahead of the superheats.

Frasnelli converts consistency into control in the Junior field

In OK Junior, Julian Frasnelli emerged as the driver to beat across the heats, combining front-running speed with consistency across a demanding sequence of races to secure the top position in the standings. Priam Bruno followed in second after maintaining strong pace throughout the day, while Maxim Bobreshov completed the top three, adding to his earlier heat victory.

Will Green and Alex Molota rounded out the top five, both delivering solid and consistent performances across multiple heats to stay firmly in contention. Across the category, the constantly evolving conditions in the morning and the switch to slick tyres later in the day created multiple turning points, with tyre timing playing a decisive role in several races.

With such a high volume of heats and tightly packed grids, avoiding mistakes proved critical, allowing Frasnelli to build his advantage. He will start from pole in the first of tomorrow’s superheats, with Bruno leading the grid for the other.

Pesl leads the tightly packed Senior field into the decisive phase

In OK, Jindrich Pesl maintained control of the standings across the heats, translating his qualifying pace into a series of strong results throughout the day. Behind him, James Anagnostiadis and Dean Hoogendoorn completed the top three, both delivering consistent performances across their races in similarly challenging conditions.

Kinnmark Oliver and Andrea Manni completed the top five, staying within striking distance as the order evolved through the day. The Senior category saw the same shift in conditions, with early races affected by changing weather before the move to slick tyres in the afternoon reshaped the competitive picture.

With multiple heat winners and constant changes throughout the standings, the category remains finely balanced. Pesl will start from pole in one of the superheats, while Anagnostiadis leads the second grid.

Looking Ahead to Superheats

With qualifying heats complete, attention now turns to Saturday’s superheats, where the starting grids for the finals will be decided. With conditions still evolving and the field closely matched, every position gained will be critical in shaping the outcome of the weekend.
