MP Motorsport's Formula 2 and 3 teams travelled to Monza this weekend as support series of the Formula 1 circus. For the Formula 3 team this was the season finale, which could not have gone better for the team from the Netherlands.  The qualifying session on Friday was a tricky one, due to numerous red flags it was decided that the session would not be finished with 10 minutes to go. As a result, Jonny Edgar qualified fourth, which was his best result this season. Mari Boya and Franco Colapinto finished in 15th and 16th positions, but disqualifications promoted them to P11 and P12.

Gabriel Bortoleto ended pre-season testing on top, setting a 1:47.417 to lead the way on the final day of running for Trident. He narrowly headed up the field from Gabriele Minì, just 0.035s off the top spot with Grégoire Saucy in the top three once again.

Jonny Edgar has signed with MP Motorsport for a renewed attempt at FIA Formula 3 glory. The 18-year-old from Workington in Cumbria aims to reap the benefit of experience in the Formula 1 feeder series by hooking up with the race-winning Dutch team.

In race 3 between rain and light that slowly goes away the English Jonny Edgar wins, while in the championship confirmed the podium: Minì, Pizzi and Beganovic. With race 2 canceled due to rain, it is possible to go for race 3 right at the end of the day, taking advantage of the interruption of the rain and before dark. With the second and third place already defined behind the champion Minì, mathematically conquered by Francesco Pizzi and Dino Beganovic, the race makes history by itself.

Jonny Edgar acknowledged the most important success of his career to date without any great show of emotion. Even his team had to ask him to come out of his shell a little after his terrific charge up the field in the final ADAC Formula 4 race of the season at Oschersleben. But 16-year-old Edgar is not one to broadcast his feelings, preferring to keep his emotions to himself, and this detachment characterised the Van Amersfoort driver's season. He was the dominant force initially but suddenly appeared to be the big loser at the weekend, only to hit back with determination and strength in the last race. In an extremely exciting season finale, Edgar managed to catch team-mate Jak Crawford and secure the championship title in the ADAC High-Speed Academy with a two-point lead.
 

Jonny Edgar (16, England, Van Amersfoort Racing) delivered an outstanding performance in the last race of the season at Oschersleben to wrap up the ADAC Formula 4 championship after catching and overtaking team-mate Jak Crawford (15, USA). Red Bull Junior Edgar went on a strong charge from seventh place on the grid in the final race of the year to finish in P2 and bank enough points to clinch the championship. After his two victories in the first two races at Oschersleben, Crawford went into the final race nine points ahead of Edgar. However, he made hardly any progress from eighth on the grid and ultimately had to settle for sixth. After 21 thrilling races this season, the title in the ADAC High-Speed Academy was decided by just two points. And amid all the excitement, Rookie champion Tim Tramnitz (15, Germany, US Racing) was recording a maiden win in the series.
 

It is a duel that has dominated the whole season, and it is about to culminate on the final weekend at Oschersleben (6th - 8th November) - Jonny Edgar (16, England) versus Jak Crawford (15, USA), two Red Bull Junior members of the Van Amersfoort squad in pursuit of the ADAC Formula 4 title. Edgar goes into this last fixture of the campaign leading the championship table by a 23-point margin and as clear favourite, but Crawford remains undaunted. So everything is set for a riveting conclusion to the sixth season of the ADAC High-Speed Academy. Racing at Oschersleben will go ahead without any spectators in attendance to comply with the biosecurity measures agreed between the ADAC GT Masters and the relevant authorities. French teenager Victor Bernier (16, R-ace GP) registered his second ADAC Formula 4 victory of the season in a spectacular third race at the DEKRA Lausitzring on Sunday, while British driver Jonny Edgar (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) further cemented his title claim by finishing fourth. After a dramatic DNF for his team-mate and main rival Jak Crawford (15, USA), who won the second round on Sunday morning, Edgar now takes a 23-point advantage into the grand finale next weekend at Oschersleben. Meanwhile, joy knew no bounds for Tim Tramnitz (15, Germany, US Racing) as the ADAC Sports Foundation protégé clinched the Best Rookie classification ahead of time with two strong performances on Sunday.
 

The climax of the sixth ADAC Formula 4 season is fast approaching. The gripping team-internal duel between the two top drivers, Jonny Edgar (16, England) and Jak Crawford (15, USA), goes into the next round on the penultimate race weekend of the 2020 campaign at the DEKRA Lausitzring (30th October - 1st November). Still hoping to break the dominance of the Van Amersfoort duo and snatch the title in the short time remaining is Elias Seppänen (16, Finland, US Racing). Races 16 to 18 are likely to prove decisive. The venue may be the same as the opening weekend, but the track will have a completely different configuration. This time, the drivers will be competing on a 4.75km variant - i.e. approximately one kilometre longer than the sprint layout - which likewise comprises sections of the oval perimeter and the infield.
 

The Van Amersfoort Racing duo of Jonny Edgar (16, England) and Jak Crawford (15, USA) were once again in a class of their own. The two team-mates shared the spoils of victory in the races on Sunday at the Red Bull Ring, so it now seems highly likely that the two of them will be going head-to-head as the title chase enters the home straight. Red Bull Motorsport advisor Helmut Marko was at the circuit to watch his juniors.

Jonny Edgar (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) appears to be well on course to win the ADAC Formula 4 championship title. The British teenager took his fifth victory of the season at the Red Bull Ring in Austria and further extended his lead at the top of the table. Edgar beat off competition in the first round of the weekend from France’s Victor Bernier (16, R-ace GP) and Jak Crawford (15, USA, Van Amersfoort Racing) and now heads the overall standings with a 40-point lead on the American. Two more races on the famous track near Spielberg in Styria are set to follow tomorrow. Edgar will again be on pole for the start of Race 2 on Sunday.

Nürburgring: Championship leader Jonny Edgar (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) from Great Britain and Russia's Vladislav Lomko (15, US Racing) were the winners of Saturday's two ADAC Formula 4 races thanks to their mastery of the autumn-like conditions at the Nürburgring.

No time to relax for the stars of tomorrow, as they will be facing the next big challenge in the ADAC Formula 4 just four days after the round at the Hockenheimring. For the first time ever, trainees from the ADAC High-Speed Academy will be lining up within the context of the ADAC TOTAL 24-hour race at the Nürburgring and take part in the first practice sessions and qualifying early on Thursday. Races 10, 11 and 12 will then follow on Friday and Saturday, and fans at the track will be allowed to spectate. SPORT1 and SPORT1+ will broadcast the races on TV. Hockenheim: France's Victor Bernier (16, R-ace GP) stormed to his first ADAC Formula 4 victory in a spectacular race at the Hockenheimring on Sunday. In an eventful closing stage brought to a premature end by race control, Bernier surged ahead of Jak Crawford (15, USA, Van Amersfoort Racing) and Elias Seppänen (16, Finland US Racing) to claim the top spot on the podium.

Munich: The field is looking stronger after the short summer break, as ADAC Formula 4 welcomes some new faces at Hockenheim for the third race weekend. Among the newcomers are Italian outfit Iron Lynx fronted by a young female driver from the United Arab Emirates. Hamda Al Qubaisi (18) will be making her ADAC Formula 4 debut alongside team-mate Leonardo Fornaroli (15, Italy). SPORT1 will show at least one race live on free-to-air television every weekend, and there will be further coverage on SPORT1+. Qualifying for the Italian F4 Championship powered by Abarth starts on a track with asphalt at 35 ° C, slightly hazy sky and wind at 12 kph. Joshua Dürksen secured a maiden ADAC Formula 4 victory in an exciting contest. He won Race 3 at the Nürburgring on Sunday morning in an authoritative manner and staged an impressive comeback after a mediocre showing in Race 2.

Nürburgring: Saturday brought a debut victory for Gabriele Mini, plus further masterful performances from Jonny Edgar and Elias Seppänen as they continue to rack up the points.
