Tony Kart pole position and win at the last round of the OK-OKJ European Championship

On the occasion of the fourth round of the FIA Karting European Championship in Rødby (Denmark), their Racer 401 T, in the “Junior” category, takes the pole position with Mateo Rivals and wins in the final with Ilie Tristan Crisan.

The Tony Kart Racing Team ends its path in the FIA Karting European Championship OK-OKJ in the best possible way. In the fourth and final round of the championship, held in Rødby (Denmark), the Tony Kart Racer 401 T fights throughout the weekend, both in wet and dry track conditions, and wins in the “Junior” final, thanks to the synergy with the Vortex VTJ engine. Excellent performances are also achieved in the “Senior” category, thanks to the performance of the VTS engine of the OTK Kart Group's “engine division.”

In OKJ, in a weekend featured by variable weather, Ilie Tristan Crisan makes no mistakes and gains the final victory in the Danish event. The Canadian driver, just back from his remarkable performance of the previous week in the Champions of the Future Euro Series, starts his journey with the second-best time in group 2 of the qualifying sessions and continues with three wins, a second place, and a fast lap in the qualifying heats, characterized by a dry track. Everything changes on Sunday due to rain, but not for their driver: Crisan wins the Super Heat A and then dominates the final, thanks to a brilliant start from the outside line and perfect management of every phase of the race.

Mateo Rivals is also running for obtaining a good result right from the start, having secured his pole position in Friday's chrono practice, beating fierce competition from over 80 drivers with a time of 52.231 seconds. The French driver, in his first year among the “Juniors,” then collects two wins and a second place in the qualifying heats, but a stop in super heat A and a starting position in the middle of the grid in the final, in the midst of the battle, prevents him from finishing the weekend at best.

After his debut with their colors at the “COTF,” Herman Gilles finishes his second race with a positive comeback of 11 positions in the final. Behind the Belgian driver there are Julian Frasnelli, who scores two top-3 finishes in the qualifying heats, and Antonio Reginaldo Pizzonia Neto, also in his second appearance with the Racing Team. A retirement on the first lap prevents Henri-Constant Kumpen from achieving a good result in the final, after shining with second place in the group 3 of the qualifyings and not less than two top-3 finishes and a fast lap in the eliminatory heats. Oliver Sini, on the other hand, narrowly misses out on a place in the final.

In OK class, Jindřich Pešl fights for victory in the final, after spending the entire event at the top of the standings. The Czech driver's journey begins with the second-fastest time in Group 3 of the qualifyings and continues with two wins, two second places, and a fastest lap in the qualifying heats. Sunday is affected by rain, but Pešl remains among the fastest and achieves an important fourth place in super heat A, a race in which he also sets the best lap. In the final, Pešl is in third place in the early stages of the race and shows he has the pace to fight for victory, but is then forced to stop early.

Fresh from his triumph in the Champions of the Future Euro Series, Thomas Pradier jumps with a good start in the first eliminatory heat, where he finishes third, and holds a good position in the standings throughout the round. Unfortunately, an accident on the first lap of the final prevents him from achieving a noteworthy result. In his second appearance with their sports division, Markas Šilkūnas competes in the final, while Oliver Rasmussen and Vanesa Šilkūnaitė work closely with their staff to further improve their driving skills.

With the end of the FIA Karting European Championship for OK-OKJ categories, the Tony Kart Racing Team is now taking a break before the fifth and final round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series (September 1-4) in Kristianstad, Sweden.
