Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater maintained his early GB3 Championship lead with another stunning victory on Sunday at Silverstone. From pole position, the British driver led every lap of the second contest, and was on course to win by over 10 seconds, only for a late safety car to wipe out his advantage. Meanwhile, series returnee Will Macintyre claimed his first win of the year for Elite Motorsport in the reverse grid final race. Slater holds a 15-point lead at the top of the standings over JHR’s Noah Lisle, with Nikita Johnson third for Hitech after a strong weekend of his own. 

Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater was the driver to beat as the GB3 Championship’s new era began in style at Silverstone on Saturday. 

Thai racer Enzo Tarnvanichkul will join VRD Racing for five GB3 events across the 2025 season. The 16-year-old is a member of the Red Bull Junior Team, and will compete in all of the UK rounds of this year’s GB3 Championship, as well as the Monza season finale in October.

Chris Dittmann Racing has confirmed that Mercedes-AMG F1 Team Junior Programme member Rashid Al Dhaheri will join the team for selected rounds of the 2025 GB3 Championship.

Rodin Motorsport’s Louis Sharp has been crowned as the 2024 GB3 Champion at Brands Hatch, following a win and a 10th place in the final two races of the season.

Elite Motorsport’s McKenzy Cresswell enjoyed his best day of the season, as he claimed pole position on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit with a record-breaking lap time and then a commanding victory. Elite Motorsport’s McKenzy Cresswell and Rodin Motorsport’s Arthur Rogeon claimed victories on Sunday at Silverstone, as the championship fight tightened up further. 

Chris Dittmann Racing has confirmed that Jacob Douglas will join the team for a pair of GB3 Championship meetings, beginning with this weekend’s event at Silverstone (July 25-28).

For the second time this season, Louis Sharp has lost the GB3 Championship lead as a result of another driver’s over-zealous errors. As happened last month in the reverse grid race in Belgium, the young New Zealander again was perfectly placed to increase his points advantage in the second race in the Netherlands when his Rodin Motorsport entry was struck from behind and knocked out of the results.

Hitech Pulse Eight’s Tymek Kucharczyk and VRD Racing by Arden’s Nikita Johnson were the winners in Sunday’s races at Zandvoort. Kucharczyk regained the championship lead with his fourth win of the year in race two this morning, while Johnson celebrated his first-ever win in Europe with his race three triumph. 

The GB3 Championship, supported by the BRDC, makes its second visit to Zandvoort this weekend, following an enthralling event at the Dutch venue in October last year. All races will be broadcast fully live, with a build-up beforehand and live interviews and podium ceremonies afterwards.
