Facing off against the Italian works teams, Florent and Paul Bizalion’s team secured a second consecutive title, following a 2026 season that saw ten victories and two WSK titles.
One year on from its first title, CPB Sport has once again won the FIA Karting Team Championship in KZ2. With a total of 352 points across the season’s three FIA Karting rounds – Genk (Belgium), Sarno (Italy) and Le Mans (France) – the team finished ahead of Tony Kart Racing Team (312 points), Formula K SRP Factory Team (275), CRG Racing Team (266) and Birel ART Racing (242). All of these are Italian factory teams that design and manufacture their own chassis.
Consistency as their hallmark
This title was not won through a single spectacular performance, but through consistency over the long term. CPB Sport is the only team to have scored over 110 points in each of the three rounds: 125 at Genk, 111 at Sarno and 116 at Le Mans. Other teams achieved a better result in a single round, but none maintained that level of performance throughout the season.
Matheus Morgatto was one of the key figures behind this success. Finishing 2nd at Genk and then 3rd at Sarno, the Brazilian driver from CPB Sport ended the season as European KZ2 runner-up. At Le Mans, during the World Cup, CPB Sport had six drivers in the Final, and the points scored by Marek Skrivan (7th) and Dion Van Werven (12th) sealed the title.
In 2025, the team had triumphed with 715 points, 432 clear of the runner-up, by topping the standings in each of the four rounds. The 2026 title, clinched against a larger field of top contenders, is all the more valuable for it.
The 2026 season in figures
The team title crowns an already remarkable season. In the WSK, the drivers from CPB Sport and the CPB Sport Sodi Racing Team won all eight KZ2 Finals in the WSK Super Master Series and the WSK Euro Series. Maksim Orlov (CPB Sport Sodi Racing Team) claimed both titles, and the final two podium places were entirely in the team’s colours: Orlov, Senna Van Walstijn (CPB Sport Sodi Racing Team) and Marek Skrivan (CPB Sport) in the Super Master Series; Orlov, Dion Van Werven and Jenson Graham (CPB Sport) in the Euro Series.
In total, CPB Sport and the CPB Sport Sodi Racing Team recorded 10 wins, seven pole positions and 15 podium finishes in 2026. Racing under the CPB Sport banner, Senna Van Walstijn triumphed in the KZ class at the Le Mans Karting Grand Prix, whilst Anthony Abbasse won the KZ2 Masters International Super Cup at the same circuit.
Paul Bizalion, Team Principal of CPB Sport
“Retaining our FIA Karting team title in KZ2 is our greatest source of satisfaction this season. It demonstrates real consistency at the very highest level: since 2014, not a single season has ended without a victory, and since 2017, not a single one without a title. The WSK got our season off to a good start. It’s an important event for us: it prepares the team for the FIA Karting rounds and our new drivers in KZ2. At the World Karting Championship at Le Mans, we came to win in all three categories. Anthony did just that in KZ2 Masters. In KZ2, the results were more mixed: Jayden Thien, who had the pace to challenge at the front, saw his chances dashed by two engine failures. In KZ, Maksim led the first lap; a small mistake meant he finished just off the podium. Nothing disastrous, but we were expecting better.
“We owe this consistency to the way we bring the drivers together and support them, to the technical work carried out this year by our team managers Florent Bizalion and Thomas Cypers – whom I’d like to commend – and to our partnership with Sodikart, who did everything they could to assist us technically. I would like to thank the teams at the Nantes site for these eleven years of collaboration. CPB Sport is now an integral part of the factory in KZ, the category which, for me, represents the elite of karting. At the World Championship, 35 drivers from twelve different countries were racing under our banner: this reflects the brand’s international reach. I mustn’t forget our engine suppliers, Flavio Sani and Cédric Sport, for the quality of their work throughout the season, nor Stefan Haak and Thierry Savard, who also supported us at the World Championship in Le Mans.
“The season isn’t over yet, and we hope this success will continue and endure.”
CPB Sport will round off its season in November at the WSK Final Cup, in Lonato (22nd November) and then in Viterbo (29th November).
