PREMA Powerteam claimed two podium finishes and a triple rookie win at Vallelunga, home to the third round of the 2021 Italian Formula 4 Championship. Sebastian Montoya established himself among the most competitive contenders all weekend. After taking second place in race 2, a jump start penalty deprived the 16-year-old Colombian-American of a chance to battle for the win. In race 3, Montoya fought as hard as he could with another charge for victory. He eventually came short but secured another second place and valuable points for the series. Race 3 proved extremely challenging for all drivers as a lengthy red flag, coupled with the torrid weather, really put their stamina to the test. Despite the tough situation, all PREMA Powerteam drivers were able to secure points.

Thomas ten Brinke has ended his motorsport career with immediate effect. The 16-year-old Ten Brinke joined the TeamNL selection at the beginning of this year, but has now indicated that he no longer enjoys the sport and is therefore quitting with immediate effect. While the KNAF and TeamNL regret the decision as the talented Ten Brinke seemed to have a great career in motorsport ahead of him, they admire the courage to make this difficult but brave choice at such a young age.

The international all-female single-seater motor racing championship will race in partnership with the FIA Formula One World Championship for eight rounds in 2021, starting with a double header in Austria on 26 June and 3 July in support of the Styrian and Austrian Grands Prix respectively.

Track conditions vary, yellow flags interrupt twice the 20 minutes session of qualifying practice 2, but nothing changes at the head of the standings, with the Swiss Grégoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix – 1:31.193) setting an amazing lap time, 0.367 faster than his teammate, Gabriele Minì. Third is a fantastic Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport – 1:31.781), showing again a constant improvement of the driver and the team. Fourth is Mikhael Belov (G4 Racing – 1:31.949), who yesterday has brought the first points to his team, and is continuing to give strong support to G4 Racing in expressing their full potential. Fifth is Francesco Pizzi (Van Amersfoort Racing – 1:32.010), obtaining his best position in qualifying this year. Just behind the Italian driver is Oliver Goethe (MP Motorsport – 1:32.015).

Behind him, his teammate Gabriele Minì, in an absolutely consistent race, being the only driver with a pace close to Saucy.

In an eventful race with a host of overtaking manoeuvres, retirements and safety car phases, Luke Browning (US Racing) eventually benefitted from a penalty handed to Sebastian Montoya (Prema Powerteam) to claim his first victory in ADAC Formula 4. Montoya was first across the finish line, but ultimately had to settle for seventh place after receiving a time penalty for an early start.
