F4 Germany sees encouragingly strong demand

Young motorsport talent is back in Germany. From 2027, F4 Germany will once again provide the platform that young drivers in Germany deserve. The registration process is now underway – and according to the promoter, demand is already exceeding expectations.

Motorsport community responds with immediate registrations

Only a few weeks have passed since the official launch of F4 Germany. The registration period is still open, yet the promoter has already received more signed application forms than initially forecast. Robin Selbach, Managing Director of promoter GEDLICH Racing, explains: “Our internal planning was based on a grid of 20 cars for the inaugural season. We already have significantly more confirmed registrations on our desks. We are delighted to see that we are clearly filling an important gap and that so many drivers and teams want to be part of F4 Germany.”

Strong mix of top names, smaller teams and newcomers

The profile of the interested teams shows just how much impact the launch of F4 Germany has already had within the motorsport community. Stefan Lehner, Head of Race Series at GEDLICH Racing, explains: “We have received numerous registrations from major teams that are also well known from F3 and F2, but smaller teams are represented too. In addition, several well-known teams that have not previously been involved in single-seater racing appear to be using the launch of F4 Germany as an opportunity to enter the category. There are some surprises to come – established names from GT racing will be competing with F4 cars in F4 Germany, as well as one name known from the world of Hypercars.”

Grid places to be allocated shortly

The key question, of course, is which teams will ultimately compete in F4 Germany and what the overall profile of the grid will look like. Selbach explains: “After 25 September, the teams that have secured a place will receive confirmation of their registration. We expect to be able to provide reliable information on the grid by the end of September.”

Several criteria will be taken into account when allocating the available places. In addition to the professionalism of the teams and drivers, the promoter will also consider previous experience in the established Formula Winter Series as well as financial stability.

Provisional F4 Germany Calendar*
Oschersleben
Lausitzring
Norisring
Red Bull Ring
Nürburgring
Sachsenring
Hocken

* Five of these are expected to take place as part of the DTM.
