RPM have announced their first driver for 2023, confirming the engagement of the Irish racer Adam Fitzgerald. A renewed commitment for the team lead Keith Donegan, facing its second season in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine after having collected two podiums and the nineth place in the 2022 team standings.

With two more victories and three pole positions at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, James Wharton has achieved the goal he set himself when he arrived in the United Arab Emirates in January: to win the highly coveted and challenging 2023 UAE F4 Championship. The final round of the season once again demonstrated the competitiveness of the Ferrari Driver Academy driver. The 16-year-old Australian hopeful will now head to Europe and the Italian F4 Championship.

Abu Dhabi, February 19, 2023: Mercedes Formula 1 protégé Andrea Kimi Antonelli became the inaugural Formula Regional Middle East (FRMEC) champion during another thrilling weekend of action in the final round at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The 16-year-old Italian didn’t win any races, although he did take the chequered flag first in one of them. But a penalty for a collision with main title rival Taylor Barnard as they battled for the lead in race one converted victory into no points for Antonelli, and kept things at boiling point overnight before the deciding two races on Sunday.

Douglas Motorsport has completed its three car GB3 line-up with the signing of Polish ace Tymek Kucharczyk. The 16-year-old is an exciting addition to the Northamptonshire team’s line-up for the new campaign, having impressed on his single-seater debut last season, following a number of successful years competing in World Series Karting.

Antonelli may have shared the wins in Dubai with Pepe Martí and Nikita Bedrin, but it was Taylor Barnard who scored the biggest points total of the weekend and he is still very much in the picture for the title.

The ADAC’s youth programme is set for its premiere with Finn Wiebelhaus (Obertshausen) and Tom Kalender (Hamm/Sieg) from Hessen, alongside Max Reis (Ramstein) from Rhineland-Palatinate.
