During the first round of the Formula 3 Regional Eurocup 3, the young Moroccan driver Suleiman Zanfari made a brilliant move by mounting the podium of Race 1 of the Spa-Francorchamps meeting. This performance, hailed by his peers, gives him a boost of confidence at the start of an important season. He is currently 4th in the standings of this promising new series.

Monolite Racing is delighted to announce a new entry for the second round of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Barcelona. The Italian squad, led by Rudi Mariotto will field a third car for Kirill Smal.

Williams Racing is delighted to announce Luke Browning as the latest member of the team’s Driver Academy. The 21-year-old currently competes for Hitech Pulse-Eight in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Luke sits 10th in the Drivers’ Championship after races in Bahrain and Australia. 

The GB3 Championship heads to Zandvoort for the first time later this season (14-15 October), and a number of this year’s contenders took advantage of the break between the Oulton Park season opener and the Silverstone rounds at the start of May, to sample the Dutch Grand Prix venue for the first time in testing this week.

Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine last race of round 1 at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola goes to Kas Haverkort, Dutchman of Van Amersfoort Racing. This is Haverkort third win in the series cosigned by Alpine and ACI Sport, the first of the year came as soon as round 1, and, added to yesterday’s P5, constitutes a good haul for the driver’s standings.  

Martinius Stenshorne, R-ace GP, writes a chapter in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine history. For the first a rookie driver started in pole position the first race of the year and subsequently came the first win of a Norwegian driver ever. Stenshorne inherited the pole today after a penalization to Rafael Camara (Prema Racing), and his best lap, initially only 3 thousandth of a second behind, became the best of the pole.

After the post-session examinations carried on by the Stewards following Race Director’s reports, Group A qualifying results change. Rafael Camara (Prema Racing) had his best lap deleted for failing to slow down when a yellow flag was displayed, while Lorenzo Fluxà (Prema Racing) left the track at turn 2. For this very same reason also Alessandro Giusti (G4 Racing) suffered the same penalty but kept the fifth placement.

Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine first qualifying of the year is done, Rafael Camara is the fastest on the track of Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari of Imola and gains the pole position for the first race of 2023 with his best lap this morning in group A. The Brazilian Ferrari Driver Academy of Prema Racing stops the clock at 1’39.130. Though session with very strict gaps between the drivers, the Norwegian debutant Martinius Stenshorne showed all his speed by following extremely closely this morning under Imola’s sun: his best lap was only 3 milliseconds slower than the leader. 

Christian Lester has confirmed that he will return to the GB4 Championship for the 2023 season, reuniting with his family-run squad Rossoverde Racing. 

Double GB4 race-winner Tom Mills will complete KMR Sport’s three-car line-up for the Oulton Park season opener this weekend (7-10 April).

Fortec Motorsport has confirmed that Aditya Kulkarni will graduate to the GB4 Championship with the title-winning team for the 2023 season, which starts at Oulton Park this weekend (8-10 April).

The ADAC Formula Junior Team will be travelling to Nogaro for the season-opener in the French Formula 4 championship from 8th to 10th April. Max Reis (Ramstein) will mark the start of his second year at the 3.6-kilometre circuit in south-western France, while Tom Kalender (Hamm/Sieg) and Finn Wiebelhaus (Obertshausen) will be celebrating their racing debuts in the Formula 4 car.

This time it’s for real! After a hard-working winter, Arthur Rogeon is about to set off for Cheshire and the Oulton Park circuit in England where he will make his motor racing debut this Easter weekend. The young driver from Laval is entered for the GB3 Championship, the top-tier single-seater category in England.

Elite Motorsport has confirmed a two-car line-up for the 2023 GB4 Championship season opener at Oulton Park this weekend (7-10 April), with Harri Reynolds and Josh Irfan set to make their single-seater race debuts. Reynolds was a front-runner in the Ginetta Junior Championship last season, and is aiming to complete the full GB4 campaign with Elite, which won multiple GB4 races last season. 

Aston Martin Racing today announced 24 fresh Aston Martin Vantage racers to be part of the 2023 Aston Martin Racing Driver Academy. The initiative’s next winner will receive Aston Martin Racing support and assistance through 2024 and a test in a Vantage GT3. Part of the 2023 AMR Driver Academy is the Swedish racer Jessica Bäckman as the only Swede and female driver.

Fortec Motorsport has announced that Indian rising star Ruhaan Alva will race with the squad in the 2023 GB4 Championship, which gets underway this weekend at Oulton Park. 

Alina Loibnegger will take the next step in her career and challenge the elite drivers in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. The Austrian will return to Racingfuel Motorsport and move up to EuroNASCAR PRO for the 2023 NWES season. The Wolfsberg native joined the EuroNASCAR 2 championship in 2021 after getting her first taste of the car in the 2019 Club Challenge season. After a successful season with Racingfuel Motorsport out of Switzerland in 2022, Loibnegger is looking forward to the next challenge. 

Italian karter Alvise Rodella has chosen MP Motorsport for his full-season promotion to single-seaters. The youngster will step up from karts for a campaign in the 2023 Spanish Formula 4 Championship with the Dutch team.

Spanish youngster Bruno Del Pino Ventos will team up with MP Motorsport for his debut in the inaugural Eurocup-3 season. The 16-year-old is gearing up for his second season in single-seaters after a promising first year in the Spanish Formula 4 Championship.

The auspicious talents of race winning Louis Sharp have received further recognition with a coveted invitation from the British Racing Drivers Club to join its esteemed BRDC Rising Star scheme ahead of the 2023 season. Aged just 15 years-old, the New Zealander is one of the youngest prospects to have joined the coveted scheme reserved for drivers aged 24 and under – from Britain or the Commonwealth – who are considered to have huge potential.
