The third edition of the FIA Motorsport Games has officially begun. A total of 646 athletes from 82 countries will compete in no fewer than 26 categories, a significant increase from the 16 categories of last time in France and the six categories of the first edition in Italy.

An enthralling opening battle for victory in Heat 1 Group 1 for the Karting Mini category came down to a side-by-side blast as Team Portugal eventually got the better of Team USA as the chequered flag waved.

Team Spain doubled up in Karting Sprint Sr as Ruben Moya Lopez triumphed in both heats, much to the delight of a passionate home crowd.

The first racing action kicked off at a sunny Aspar Circuit this morning with Team Spain enjoying home success in the opening Karting Sprint Jr Heat.

The Rally category has been expanded from three to nine categories, while GT Single Make, Esports F4, Karting Mini and Cross Car Mini are also new.

Selected for the second time by the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo to represent Spain, Belén García returns to competition this week at the FIA Motorsport Games. The 25-year-old driver will aim for gold in Karting Endurance with José Manuel Pérez-Aicart and Germán Sánchez at the Aspar Circuit in Valencia.

At its meeting on 17th October 2024, the FIA World Motor Sport Council made the following decisions based on proposals from the International Karting Commission.

Unsettled weather conditions made the KZ World Championship, held at Portimao in southern Portugal, extremely difficult. Qualifying was run on rain tyres that were particularly difficult to understand and use, and the KR Motorsport team were unable to get to the front of the field straight away. In the second half of the event, however, the team's performance on a dry track was clearly up to scratch, with Stan Pex, Danilo Albanese and Paolo Ippolito all making it into the top 10.

The most important event of the season for the Shifter categories, the FIA ​​World Championship KZ-KZ2 and KZ2 Masters which took place in Portugal, confirmed the CRG colors among the most competitive in these categories, which have always been very relevant in terms of importance on the karting world market. The seal of prestige in a weekend heavily influenced by the weather came with the podium in KZ2 by Paavo Tonteri, P3 at the end of a journey always among the big names, starting from Qualifying Practice.

At the FIA Karting World Championship KZ in Portimão, Portugal, the Tony Kart Racing Team took to the track with the Racer 401 RR and OMP suits in the 2025 livery. Although 2024 is not yet over, the Tony Kart Racing Team is already laying the groundwork for the 2025 season. Their racing division presented, directly on the track at the FIA Karting World Championship KZ, the new livery that will be used next year on the newly homologated Tony Kart Racer 401 T, along with the new official drivers’ racing suit, as always designed and produced by OMP.

This weekend, the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve witnessed the crowning of three FIA Champions following a fierce competition that saw a variety of track conditions.

Following Qualifying Heats held in variable grip conditions, Spain's Pedro Hiltbrand Aguilar took the lead in the intermediate standings of the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, Italy's Cristian Bertuca maintained his lead in the FIA Karting World Cup - KZ2 and France's Anthony Abbasse took the lead in the FIA Karting International Super Cup - Masters.

Dutchman Senna Van Walstijn took pole position in the Mondokart.com FIA Karting World Championship - KZ, Italian Cristian Bertuca took pole position in the FIA Karting World Cup - KZ2 and Brazilian Andre Nicastro set the fastest time in the FIA Karting International Super Cup - Masters.
