CRG Racing Team and Viktor Gustavsson victorious in Denmark

This past weekend, the FIA European Championship for the OK and OK Junior categories concluded at the Rødby circuit in Denmark, with a splendid victory for the CRG Racing Team. Viktor Gustavsson won the Final in the OK category ahead of his teammate Davide Bottaro, securing a fantastic one-two finish.

The weekend ended in the best possible way for the team, with CRG drivers showing competitiveness in all track conditions, starting from the qualifying sessions. The fourth and final round of the championship was particularly challenging due to extremely variable weather conditions, which did not prevent the CRG technical staff from doing a perfect job, thanks to their experience and expertise.

This success brings great morale to the team ahead of the World Championship, scheduled to take place in Sweden in September, the most important event of the season. The team has worked hard to regain performance after a start to the season below expectations, and in this process, a crucial role was played by the development of the TM engines, carried out by Gustavsson himself.

The Swedish driver’s victory was made even more significant by the second place of Davide Bottaro, who also competed with TM engines and was consistently among the top ten throughout the weekend in Denmark.

Maria Neto and Clovis Nougueyrede were less fortunate, missing out on the OK Final by just a few points due to two on-track incidents during the qualifying heats. In OK Junior, Manuel Miguez also failed to qualify due to two retirements in the heats, but still showed race pace that was on par with the front-runners.

Comments from the Team Principal and CRG Driver

Jeremi Iglesias (Team Principal):

“The team and drivers did an excellent job this weekend, showing their skills and experience through the constantly changing weather conditions. This victory, made even sweeter by Davide’s second place, will bring great morale to the team and allows us to look to the future with strong motivation after a rather complicated start to the season.”

Viktor Gustavsson:

“This victory repays all the hard work we’ve put in over the past two months and the difficult weekends we faced in the first part of the season as we adapted to the championship’s tyres. The team did a perfect job this weekend, showing their full potential. But the most important thing is that we’ve closed the gap with the top competitors and can now look to the second half of the season with great confidence. Our TM engines have reached a very high level of performance, and our chassis has worked perfectly, as it has consistently done over recent seasons.”
