DKM 2027: Established circuits and youth development opportunities

Road to DTM offers 78,000 Euro in funding for OK-N champion. Five renowned venues feature on the DKM calendar. Wackersdorf is two weeks ahead of FIA Karting European Championship.

The German Kart Championship will continue to focus on continuity and youth development in 2027, and drivers have five varied race weekends at challenging circuits in Germany and the Czech Republic to look forward to. The season-opener will take place from 7th to 9th May at the Schweppermannring in Ampfing, followed by races in Wackersdorf (18th–20th June) and Cheb (16th–18th July). Kerpen will host the fourth race of the season (13th–15th August) before the champions are crowned in Mülsen, from 17th to 19th September. DKM drivers will be competing in five classes again next year: Mini, OK-N Junior, OK-N, KZ2 Cup and KZ2. The Road to DTM also offers 78,000 Euro in funding to enable the OK-N category champion to make the step up into professional motorsport.

Road to DTM: Direct route to professional motorsport

In addition to the championship titles, the DKM 2027 also offers drivers attractive prospects for career development. The OK-N category is the access point for the Road to DTM, the ADAC youth development programme. This provides support for talented young drivers, helping them to progress from karting, via the BMW M2 Cup, the ADAC GT4 Germany and the ADAC GT Masters, all the way to the DTM. From next year onwards, the winner of the Road to DTM will receive 78,000 Euro to fund the step up to the next ADAC series for a whole season. The programme thereby enables a driver to move directly from karting to professional motorsport.

The youngest talents are integrated into the Mini class, with the structure also featuring OK-N Junior and OK-N classes and the gearbox karts in the KZ2 Cup and KZ2 classes. This ensures that the DKM can provide a sporting platform for a range of age and performance levels, while maintaining a connection to the next levels of motor racing.

Wackersdorf as preparation for the European Championship

The 2027 season-opener will take place at the Schweppermannring in Ampfing. Combining fast sections with challenging sequences of turns, the 1,063-metre circuit in Bavaria has regularly delivered thrilling race action in recent years. The second race of the season, at ProKart Raceland Wackersdorf, is especially significant. Just two weeks after the DKM weekend, elite international gearbox kart racers will come together at the 1,190-metre circuit to compete in the FIA Karting European Championship. The DKM represents a particularly attractive opportunity for drivers in the KZ2 class to gain experience under racing conditions as they prepare for this highlight on the international calendar. This explains why Wackersdorf is hosting the DKM earlier in the season than is usually the case.

Cheb retained after successful debut - finale in Saxony

The DKM will be crossing the border into the Czech Republic again in 2027. The Fun Arena Cheb celebrated its first appearance on the race calendar in 2026, blending thrilling races on a challenging circuit with a good paddock atmosphere. After making such a successful start, it will host the championship race again in July. The series will visit the Erftlandring in Kerpen, one of Germany’s most historic kart circuits, in August. Numerous drivers have taken their first steps there over the decades, before going on to make a name for themselves in motorsport. In 2027, the circuit will once again host talented young drivers from Germany and abroad. The grand season finale will take place in late September at the Motorsportarena Mülsen. Five championship titles will be up for grabs on the modern and challenging circuit as the 1,315-metre track in Saxony wraps up the DKM season for the first time.
