Another day of action on and off the track brought the curtain down on the opening round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy at the Cremona Circuit.

Among the 227 drivers who took part in the event, five winners emerged at the end of an intense weekend of racing: Michael Rosina (DD2), Nicolas Picot (DD2 Masters), Joshua Cooke (Mini MAX), Kai Clarke (Junior MAX) and Nick Trobec (Senior MAX).

DD2 / DD2 MASTERS – Rosina Leads Italian 1–2

The combined DD2 / DD2 Masters Final produced an Italian 1–2 finish, with Michael Rosina (MKC Motorsport) taking a commanding victory ahead of Leonardo Baccaglini (Schepers Racing). The two drivers managed to open a gap over third-placed Jakub Bezel (Kraft Motorsport).

In DD2 Masters, Nicolas Picot (Privateer) confirmed his status as the driver to beat in the category, claiming victory ahead of the two Swiss drivers Dimo Notafrancesco (Kartteam Meier) and Miro Svagusa (P.Performance Karting).

MINI MAX – Cooke Takes Victory After Post-Race Penalty

The Mini MAX Final delivered one of the most dramatic races of the day. James Roots (Dan Holland Racing) crossed the line first, but the celebration proved short-lived as a penalty applied after the finish reshuffled the classification.

The win therefore went to Joshua Cooke (KR Sport), who secures the Italian Cup Mini MAX and the first ticket of the season to the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals. The British driver led home teammate Logan Rolfe (KR Sport), with Charlie Page (Privateer) completing the podium.

JUNIOR MAX – Clarke Prevails on track but Babicek wins after penalties

The Junior MAX Final was heavily influenced by the weather. A sudden rain shower in the closing stages forced Race Control to red-flag the race, freezing the results at that moment.

Kai Clarke (Strawberry Racing) finished the race on P1 but a penalty after race gives the win to Zdenek Babicek (Dan Holland Racing). Luca Holmes-Balac (Strawberry Racing) and Rares Pascu (Dan Holland Racing) are 2nd and 3rd.

SENIOR MAX – Trobec Makes the Right Call in the Rain

In Senior MAX, changing weather conditions proved decisive. As rain began to fall, the drivers who opted for wet tyres gained the upper hand.

Making the right strategic call was Nico Trobec (KSB Racing), who claimed victory ahead of Tobias Normann (RS Competition) and Jack West (MLC Motorsport). Yoeri Schoens (RS Competition) finished fourth after also successfully interpreting the evolving track conditions.

Next Stop: Wackersdorf

Mixed weather conditions and intense battles on track made for an unforgettable Sunday at the Cremona Circuit, successfully launching the 2026 Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy season.

The championship now moves on to Round 2, scheduled to take place in Wackersdorf, Germany, during the weekend of May 3, where the fight for the Euro Trophy titles will continue.
