E10 Championship debuts at Sweden’s legendary Kanonloppet

Gunskirchen, Austria – This August marks an exciting new chapter for electric karting in Scandinavia as the E10 Championship makes its Swedish debut at one of the country's most prestigious motorsport events – the legendary Kanonloppet at Gelleråsen Arena.

For the first time, young drivers aged 10 to 13 will compete in a dedicated E10 race during the iconic race weekend, bringing the next generation of motorsport talent to one of Sweden's most historic racing venues.

Racing at a Swedish Motorsport Classic

Kanonloppet is far more than just another race weekend. Since its origins in the 1950s, it has estab-lished itself as one of Sweden's most celebrated motorsport events, attracting thousands of specta-tors and some of the biggest names in Scandinavian racing. Held at the historic Gelleråsen Arena, Sweden's oldest permanent racing circuit, Kanonloppet combines tradition, high-level competition and a unique festival atmosphere that makes it a highlight of the racing calendar.

The event features an impressive line-up of premier racing series, including the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, Sprint Challenge Scandinavia, V8 Thundercars, Valeryd Legends Cup and Pro Superbike. Adding to the prestige of the event, Prince Carl Philip is once again expected to take part in the Porsche Carrera Cup, continuing his long-standing involvement in Swedish motorsport.

Alongside these renowned championships, the Swedish Rotax MAX Challenge will also be part of the weekend, making Kanonloppet the perfect stage for the introduction of the E10 Championship.

The E10 Joins the Action

The E10 category continues to grow as an exciting and accessible entry point into competitive elec-tric karting. During the Swedish round, all competitors will race using their own chassis fitted with the E10 electric power package, creating an equal and competitive platform while allowing drivers to compete with equipment they already know.

A comprehensive registration package and sporting regulations are currently being finalized and will be released shortly, providing competitors with all the information needed to enter the event.

A Championship with a Grand Prize

The Swedish E10 Championship will consist of two race events, with the opening round taking place during Kanonloppet from August 13-15 and the second round at the same track, the Gellerasen Arena, from September 26-27, 2026.

The overall championship winner will earn a coveted ticket to compete at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in the E10 Mini category, providing a unique opportunity to represent their country on the international stage.

Open to drivers aged 10 to 13 years, the championship is designed to introduce young talents to high-level electric kart racing while creating a clear pathway towards international competition.

More information regarding registration, regulations, race format and the second championship round will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned as we prepare for an exciting new era of E10 racing in Sweden. https://www.rotaxmaxchallenge.se/calendar/entry-rotax-e-10-event-1/
