OTK Kart Group: Tony Kart presents the New Racer 401 TS and the Model Year 2027 Product Range

The brand’s flagship chassis from OTK Kart Group presents solutions that further enhance drivability, braking performance and ease of use, also shared with the TDX S. For the MINI categories, the Rookie is confirmed in its EVM and EVS versions. All models feature a newly designed sticker kit.

Tony Kart presents its Model Year 2027 product range, the result of the close cooperation between OTK Kart Group’s R&D Department and the Tony Kart Racing Team. The main new additions include the Racer 401 TS, the brand’s flagship model, and the TDX S, both featuring new technical solutions developed for the Direct Drive, Shifter and DD2 categories. For the MINI classes, the Rookie is confirmed in its EVM and EVS versions. All chassis also feature updated graphics.

Every development follows the philosophy of “Designed, Engineered, Manufactured 100% made in OTK – Italy”. From design to production, all activities are carried out in-house at OTK Kart Group’s Chassis Division facilities in Prevalle, Italy. Carefully selected materials undergo rigorous incoming inspections before being processed using highly automated manufacturing processes, designed to ensure high-quality standards and maximum repeatability.

Racer 401 TS, a benchmark in karting

With a history marked by numerous international victories, including ten World Championship titles, the Racer — now bearing the new designation 401 TS — represents the highest expression of OTK Kart Group’s expertise in competition karting. Working in close cooperation with the Tony Kart Racing Team, the R&D Department has focused particularly on components, developing solutions to further improve ease of driving and adaptability to different track conditions.

Greater feel, enhanced adaptability

Among the most significant updates are the new stub axles developed for the different configurations of the Racer 401 TS. The Direct Drive version introduces the HFT stub axles, while the Shifter version adopts the HFZ. Both components have been refined to make the kart’s behaviour more intuitive and provide the driver with immediate front-end feedback, while also increasing versatility across different track conditions.

Maximum Braking Performance

The braking system also benefits from a significant upgrade with the introduction of a new 180 mm-diameter floating brake disc. This solution has been developed to increase braking efficiency, deliver more consistent performance on track and reduce brake pad wearing. The component is fitted to both the BWD braking system, designed for the Direct Drive categories, and the BWZ system, used in the Shifter classes. Both systems stand out for their effective thermal management, which promotes heat dissipation and helps keep the average brake fluid temperature under control.

A new feature for Shifter versions

The Shifter configuration of the Racer 401 TS introduces a new chain tensioner, designed to simplify chain adjustment and engine positioning. This solution makes setup operations easier and helps maintain the correct chain tension during use.

A well-established technical foundation

Alongside its new features for 2027, the Racer 401 TS retains its established chassis geometry, built entirely from 30 mm-diameter tubing, as well as the M11 fairings. The latter includes the front spoiler and front bumper, developed through CFD simulations, wind tunnel testing and on-track testing. These components optimise aerodynamic efficiency while fully complying with FIA regulations. The package is completed by the M10 side bumpers. Fully adjustable pedals and an angled steering wheel hub allow the driving position to be tailored to drivers of different sizes. Meanwhile, the HGS steering wheel, with its high-grip rubber covering, helps reduce the effort required while driving.

A distinctive look

The Model Year 2027 range is completed by an updated sticker kit design across all chassis models. The new graphics evolve the styling of the previous version while retaining the colours and distinctive elements that define Tony Kart’s identity.

TDX S, a shared technical DNA

Alongside the Racer 401 TS is the TDX S, featuring a chassis built entirely from 32 mm-diameter tubing and available in both Direct Drive and Shifter configurations. The model benefits from the same technical solutions introduced on the Racer 401 TS, including the HFT and HFZ stub axles, the new 180 mm floating brake disc and, for the Shifter version, the new chain tensioner.

DD2, in the spirit of continuity

The DD2 versions of the Racer 401 TS and TDX S retain their respective chassis geometries while adopting some of the updates introduced on the other configurations. Both feature the HFZ stub axle and the new 180 mm floating brake disc, paired with the BWZ braking system. The removable exhaust support is also retained, specifically designed for the engines used in this category.

Rookie EVM and EVS, continuity for the MINI class

For the MINI categories, Tony Kart continues to rely on the Rookie in its EVM and EVS versions. The model’s distinctive features are retained, including forged, fully adjustable aluminium pedals; BMT4 stub axles paired with 235 mm steering tie rods; magnesium front and rear hubs; and the BSM5 braking system, featuring a 149 mm floating brake disc and 4A brake pads.

The fairing kit includes the M9 front number panel spoiler and front bumper, paired with the M8 side bumpers.
