Following the qualifying practice for the fourth round of the WSK Super Master Series at the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato, the first qualifying heats have taken place. These will conclude on Saturday to determine the finalists for Sunday, March 8th, from the 375 drivers competing across the MINI, OK-NJ, OKJ, OK, and KZ2 categories.
KZ2 – Initial victories for Van Walstijn and Bertuca.
In the first two KZ2 heats, the victories went to Senna Van Walstijn (Sodikart – Sodikart/TM Kart/LeCont) and Cristian Bertuca (Birelart Racing – Birelart/Iame), respectively. In the A-B heat, Van Walstijn finished ahead of his teammate Max Orlov, with the Belgian Elie Goldstein (TB Kart Racing Team) in third, followed by the Italian Giuseppe Palomba (Maranello Kart). Meanwhile, in the C-D heat, Cristian Bertuca claimed victory ahead of his teammate, the Spaniard Pedro Hiltbrand, while Czech Republic’s driver Marek Skrivan (CPB Sport) secured third place.

OK – Four different winners in four heats.
The four OK heats produced four different winners. In heat C-E, Bosco Arias (Ricky Flynn – LN Kart/TM Kart/LeCont) won over the Spaniard Benjamin Manach (Ward Racing). In the B-D heat, the German Luke Kornder (Parolin Motorsport) prevailed over Australia’s William Calleja (Parolin Motorsport). In the A-E heat, the American pole-sitter Devin Walz (Ricky Flynn) finished ahead of his teammate Arias. Finally, in the C-D heat, Calleja came out on top against the Italian Valerio Viapiana (Koski Motorsport).

OKJ – Kumpen, Pizzonia and Miron take the first satisfactions.
Four heats were also held for the OKJ category. Two victories were secured by the Belgian Henri-Constant Kumpen (Ricky Flynn – LN Kart/TM Kart), one by the championship leader from Brazil Antonio Pizzonia (Ward Racing – Parolin/TM Kart) following a comeback, and one by the Spaniard and pole-sitter Daniel Miron Lorente (Fusion Motorsport – KR/Iame). In the first heat (C-E), Kumpen finished ahead of the Polish driver Remigiusz Samczyk (Forza Racing). In the second heat (B-D), Pizzonia took the win over the Englishman William Green (KR Motorsport). In the third heat (A-E), Spain’s Miron Lorente came out on top against the American Lucas Palacio (KR Motorsport). In the fourth heat (C-D), the Belgian Kumpen repeated his success, winning over the Mexican driver Juan Garciarce (Parolin Motorsport).

OK-NJ – Perico and Gorun claim the first two victories of the weekend.
Yet another confirmation of the competitiveness of the young Italian Niccolò Perico (KR Motorsport – KR/Iame/Vega) came with his victory in the first OK-NJ heat (A-B). At the finish line, Perico led the Swiss driver Orlando Rovelli (Team Driver – KR/Iame) and the Italian Luigi D’Ascoli (Modena Kart – Parolin/TM Kart); meanwhile, the Finnish driver Leo Laitinen (Parolin Finland – Parolin/TM Kart), who originally ended third, was penalized. In the second heat (C-D), the American Victor Thomas Gorun (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart/Vortex) prevailed after a comeback, finishing ahead of the German Sebastian Riedel (Team Driver – KR/Iame) and Greek driver Ioannis Kolovos (Modena Kart – Parolin/TM Kart).

MINI U10 – Hsueh and Wolff to the fore.
In the first of the two MINI U10 heats, victory went to Blake Hsueh (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart/Vortex/Vega), who had previously secured pole position in qualifying. The American driver finished ahead of his fellow countryman, Zev Godschalk and Englishman Albert Pharoah, both competing for Kidix Driver on KR-Iame. In the C-D heat, a race defined by numerous overtakes, the Austrian Jack Fynn Wolff (KR Motorsport – KR/Iame) claimed the win, followed by Dutchman Denver Bos (Kidix – KR/Iame) and Spaniard Oliver Weyt Jens (Team Driver – KR/Iame), after a penalty issued to Thai driver Max Zvarich (BabyRace – Parolin/Iame).

MINI Gr.3 – El Gahoudi and Frigerio win the two heats.
In the MINI Gr.3, the Moroccan pole-sitter Nahyl El Gahoudi (BabyRace – Parolin/Iame/Vega) confirmed his winning form by crossing the finish line of the A-B heat ahead of two French drivers, Amine Pantoli (Sodikart – Sodikart/TM Kart) and Edouard Ruget (Ward Racing – Parolin/TM Kart). In the C-D heat, victory went to the Italian Filippo Frigerio (BabyRace – Parolin/Iame), followed by the Polish driver Filip Stec (Energy Corse – Energy/Iame) and the Dutchman Cees Muijs (Birelart Racing – Birelart/Iame).
