The event was supported by the GTC Race. The sports car racing series has been a partner of the DKM since this year and awards a GT4 test drive to the overall winner of the DSKC.

After a long break, the engines roared again in the German Kart Championship at the weekend. At the Pro Kart Raceland in Wackersdorf, 132 drivers competed in four classes. In the morning the temperature was already over 30°C on the Wackersdorf track, and the 18 qualifying heats on the programme for Saturday 19th June proved to be highly spectacular. Frenchman Emilien Denner consolidated his domination of the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ by winning twice. The FIA Karting European Championship - KZ2 was led at this stage by Dutchman Senna Van Walstijn, while Sri Lankan Yevan David took the lead in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

Three weeks after the season kick-off to the German Kart Championship in Kerpen, the highest German kart racing series took place in the Erftland again for its second event. With changed weather conditions, there were a couple of changes among the championships. The participants of the German Electric Kart Championship experienced their season kick-off. Juho Valtanen, Luca Griggs (both DKM), Kris Haanen (DJKM), Stan Pex (DSKM), Tim Tröger (DSKC) as well as Sebastian Kraft and Joel Mesch (both DEKM) finished the races as winners.
