After a week of sunshine in Zuera, forecasts suggested a wet finale for the opening round of the 2026 IAME Euro Series. The rain, however, only appeared before the morning warm-up, but the decisive day remained mostly dry under cloudy skies. As the programme moved into the Superheats and Finals, strong winds began sweeping across the circuit, catching several drivers out and adding another challenge to an already tense final day of racing.

Another warm day with sunny skies and light clouds greeted the drivers at the Circuito Internacional de Zuera as the 2026 IAME Euro Series season officially moved into racing action. With timed qualifying completed on Thursday, and a full schedule of qualifying heats throughout the day, the grids across Mini, Junior and Senior began to take shape ahead of Saturday’s Superheats and Finals.

The 2026 IAME Euro Series officially began today at the Circuito Internacional de Zuera near Zaragoza in Spain’s Aragón region. Under sunny skies, drivers completed their final free practice sessions before heading into timed qualifying on the fast 1699-metre circuit, known for its long straight lines and strong slipstream effect. The first competitive session of the season immediately delivered tight margins across all categories.

The 2026 IAME Euro Series begins this week at the Circuito Internacional de Zuera in Spain. From 11–14 March, drivers will take on the 1699-metre circuit near Zaragoza as the battle for the X30 Euro titles officially gets underway.

Qualifying heats on the day of the 2026 IAME Winter Cup at Kartodromo Lucas Guerrero in Valencia saw changing weather play a major role in the day’s action. Winds reaching 90kph, combined with sudden rain showers, created challenging track conditions for all 213 drivers.

After a long winter break, action resumed, and the first qualifying session for the series in 2026 was held at the Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero in the Valencia region, the annual host of the IAME Winter Cup. After all free practice sessions, the track reached its fastest lap times in timed qualifying, as 213 drivers across Mini, Junior and Senior X30 fought to secure their starting positions.

In France, the KR Motorsport team emerged victorious from the second round of the European Championship, in both OK and OK-Junior. Making the right choices at the right time is one of the strengths of the Italian brand, which demonstrated its ability to adapt to all weather conditions. Joe Turney and Iacopo Martinese dominated the proceedings on the Val d'Argenton circuit, a track no one was even familiar with a few weeks ago. The Briton is now the Championship leader in OK, while the Italian has moved up to 3rd in OK-Junior.

The weather played an important role in the running of the FIA Karting Val d'Argenton Event. After the changeable and wet weather of the first two days, the sun shone on Sunday and all the races took place on a dry track. Joe Turney (GBR) continued his domination of the OK class to the Final, as did Iacopo Martinese in OK-Junior. Jakub Gasparovic (SVK) won the first 2024 Final of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

The weather at Val d'Argenton proved extremely changeable during the Qualifying Heats of the second Competition of the Mondokart.com FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior and the first Competition of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.

For their very first competition in the FIA Karting categories on the French circuit of Val d'Argenton, the KR chassis demonstrated their effectiveness and quality of adaptation. The second round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series was not without its challenges, but the hard work put in by the teams using the KR-IAME package put the drivers on the right track.

At Franciacorta, the final round of the 2023 Champions of the Future Euro Series confirmed the positive development of Birel ART in OK. Emanuele Olivieri put in a solid performance in the top three of the class before finishing 6th in the Final. A number of setbacks prevented Matheus Morgatto, Joel Bertgström and Aaron Garcia from reaping the rewards of their good race pace, but the overall result remains very encouraging. The development work continued throughout the weekend in OK-Junior.

The changing weather conditions at the third round of the Champions of the Future Euro Series in Kristianstad enabled the Birel ART Racing team to gather a large amount of data in OK and OK-Junior. Drivers and technicians had to adapt constantly to ensure their competitiveness, which was certainly good training for the third round of the FIA European Karting Championship which will take place in Sweden in a fortnight.

In Zuera weather conditions have been very hot and windy. The team was represented in OK-Junior by Gerasim Skulanov and Aaron Garcia. Rafael Modonese, Nathan Schaap, Maksymilian Angelard and Andreja Vibriantyte were involved instead in the OK class.

In Zuera the purpose of the team was to collect as many indications as possible in view of the second round of the CIK-FIA European Championship.

The IAME Euro Series kicked off with great racing at the Circuito Internacional de Zuera with a record total number of drivers!

The IAME Winter Cup has become synonymous with that start of the international season for the top teams and drivers in the IAME X30 circle, and its 7th running did not disappoint! As usual, this year once again the Winter Cup took place in the Kartodromo Internacional Lucas Guerrero in Valencia, Spain, where the weather has historically been sunny and warm, perfect for a February race!
