PREMA Racing: Slater wins 2025 FRECA title with stunning double win at Monza

Freddie Slater handed PREMA Racing the team's fourth Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine drivers' title by dominating the 2025 finale at Monza with two scintillating wins.

Slater started from the front row in Race 1 and began a long chase for the win, which would have secured him the Driver Championship. The British racer eventually dived for P1 with a spectacular move at Parabolica on the penultimate lap.

With the big prize in the bag, Slater delivered a late stunner in Sunday's Qualifying 2 session to take pole for Race 2. He was then off to a perfect start, setting multiple fastest laps on the way. By taking his eighth win of the year, Slater tied the record for the most wins in the series and set a new record for the most points in a year.

Teammates Rashid Al Dhaheri and Jack Beeton faced adverse fortunes all weekend. They were both involved in a multi-car contact in the opening lap of Race 1. Al Dhaheri survived to finish P5, while Beeton was forced to retire. While the Australian did not take the start in Race 2, Al Dhaheri was hit from behind on lap 1. He fought back to P17 but could not bring home points.

As the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine comes to the end of its current path and will enter its new era as the FIA Formula Regional European Championship, PREMA is proud for the results achieved and looks forward to the challenges ahead.

"Definitely quite an up and down season. There were a lot of great moments, and a lot of moments that we had to learn from. I was able to learn and develop a lot as a driver, but some unfortunate moments impacted the result of the championship. Overall, we did a very good job and fought until the end. I want to thank the entire PREMA family a lot for the work the team has done, and for the support that was given to me. We still got Macau, let's go for one last dance!"

"I'm over the moon. Coming away with the title on a Saturday was incredible, and Race 2 was an amazing way to end the year. It's been an incredible season. To walk away with two wins in Monza is pretty unheard of, especially with the unpredictability around here. What a special weekend. We worked so hard this year, we had some issues and things out of our control, but we showed we could bounce back from anything. A massive thank you to PREMA. They have been such an amazing team and such a family to work with. I enjoyed every minute. Thank you, Rene and Angelo, for putting your trust in me, my engineer, Vincent, and my mechanics, Raul and Enzo, for the cracking job. I look forward to Macau! We have one more race together, which will be Macau, and it will be a special one.”

"First of all, I want to say a massive thank you to the PREMA team for all their hard work all season. The season didn't go our way results-wise, but I enjoyed it every moment. It was such a pleasure to work together and compete on many magnificent racetracks. It was great racing and I learned a lot. Special thanks to my engineer Nico, and my mechanics, Elouan and Lorenzo.
