Gunskirchen – BRP-Rotax is pleased to confirm the location and dates for the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy Asia 2026. The RMCIT will be hitting the track in the New Year at the Coloane Kart Circuit in Macau from January 23-25. The champions in five of the Rotax classes will be awarded their RMC Grand Finals 2026 tickets as one of the very first opportunities for competitors to officially qualify for the headline event.
Following on from the successful introduction of the RMC Asia Festival in Malaysia in 2022 and, more recently, the newly-named RMCIT 2025 that took place at BIRA Circuit in Thailand, the announcement is an exciting development for international competition within the region. Seven Rotax categories will be contested at the RMC International Trophy Asia in Macau, from the youngest in Micro MAX through to MAX Masters, where prizes include entries to participate in the next RMC Asia Trophy series. RMCGF 2026 tickets will be presented to the eligible winners in Rotax Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2 and DD2 Masters.

The Rotax Junior and Senior MAX categories featured at the Macau International Kart Grand Prix 15 years ago, where four-time RMCGF Champion Ben Cooper finished on the podium in the open CIK-FIA class. This time around, the event will play host to a full field of top Rotax contenders from around the globe, each racing to take the RMCIT 2026 title, and ultimately, go on to represent their own country at the most spectacular karting event on the world stage.
Coloane Kart Circuit is the only permanent karting track in Hong Kong and Macau, with a length of 1,203 metres and width of 10-12 metres, running in a clockwise direction. Ranked as one of the most challenging circuits in Asia, its facilities and cool, drier climate in January all combine to provide an ideal venue for the RMCIT 2026. The CIK-FIA World Championship made a memorable appearance at this same track back in 2009. Macau’s rich history in motorsport spans many decades, where the first karting event dates back to 1965, using part of the Guia Circuit. The famous street circuit has held the Macau Grand Prix for more than 70 seasons, well-known today for the F3, GT, Touring Cars and also Motorcycle GP events.
Located around 60km west of Hong Kong on China’s southern coast, Macau is an easy trip across the 55-kilometre bridge, which forms the longest sea crossing in the world. One of the Special Administrative Regions of China, there is much to explore: the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Historic Centre of Macau showcases a unique blend of vibrant East-West influence with a mix of colonial Portuguese and Chinese architecture and culture. Visitors can enjoy some of the best food in the region and experience the glitz of the local Macau nightlife.

“We are both honoured and thankful that the Macau ASN, the AAMC, has enabled us to organise the first-ever RMC event in Macau – the RMCIT Asia 2026,” said Orawat Tantivejkul, Managing Director of Moment Media Thailand. “I want to thank Mr. Philip Soh, who has helped us make this a reality for all the competitors and teams. Thanks also to BRP-Rotax for their amazing support, along with fellow Rotax distributors in Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, China, Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand. Our team is excited to be hosting this special Rotax event in Macau, so preparation is already in full swing. We cannot wait to welcome everyone!”
