Lonato launches the protagonists of the final sprint of the WSK Super Master Series

The victories in the penultimate round went to Orlov (KZ2), Manach (OK), Miron (OKJ), Burgess (MINI U10), Frigerio (MINI Gr.3), and Perico (OK-NJ).

The round held at the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato was one of the most significant events of the WSK Super Master Series, serving as the penultimate appointment following the first three rounds in La Conca, Sarno, and Viterbo. It stood out as one of the most attended rounds ever across all categories—from the entry-level MINI classes to the high-performance OK-NJ, OKJ, OK, and KZ2. It was also among the most exciting due to the intense battles that unfolded ahead of the championship's final sprint, which will conclude on March 18-22 at Franciacorta with the fifth and final round.

375 drivers from 60 nations.

The Lonato round of the WSK Super Master Series further elevated the prestige achieved by WSK Promotion championships over their 20 years of activity. This was true both in terms of quantity, with 375 drivers reaching Lonato, and the quality of the field, which featured competitors from 60 nations and the presence of all official manufacturers and the most prominent international teams.

Intense final stages.

Following the 44 qualifying heats required to determine the finalists, the concluding phase on Sunday, March 8th, opened with the Prefinals for each category. This led into the hard-fought Finals, which showcased the many key players of both this round and the overall championship.

KZ2 – Orlov wins and pulls away.

The Russian driver Max Orlov (Sodikart – Sodikart/TM Kart/LeCont) won the Final, taking over from the weekend-long dominance of his teammate, the Dutchman Senna Van Walstijn, who had controlled everything from pole position through the heats and Prefinal-A. Orlov, however, was always among the best and most competitive, also winning Prefinal-B. When the Dutch driver hesitated at the start of the Final, Orlov took advantage, immediately moving into the lead and holding it until the finish line. Van Walstijn had to settle for second place on track, only to be demoted to seventh position due to a 5-second penalty for moving just before the start. Consequently, the second place was inherited by a combative Danilo Albanese (KR Motorsport – KR/Iame), and behind the Italian driver, third place went to the Czech Marek Skrivan (CPB Sport – Sodikart/TM Kart). The Swede Viktor Gustafsson (CRG Racing Team – CRG/TM Kart) finished fourth, while the Frenchman Emilien Denner (Formula K SRP – IPK/TM Kart) took fifth. In the championship, Orlov, already a winner at La Conca, increased his lead to 397 points, establishing a 100-point margin over Van Walstijn.

OK – Manach wins the Final, Krutogolov keeps the lead.

The Spaniard Benjamin Manach (Ward Racing – Parolin/TM Kart/LeCont) delivered an excellent performance in the OK Final after also winning Prefinal-B. There was also an outstanding showing from the Italian Valerio Viapiana (Koski Motorsport – KR/Iame), who spent much of the weekend mounting a comeback that culminated in a second-place finish in the Final. However, the ultimate recovery belonged to Ukrainian driver Lev Krutogolov (Energy Corse – Energy/Iame), the current championship leader and winner at La Conca and Viterbo, who pulled off 14 overtakes to secure a spot on the podium. Fourth place went to a strong Jindrich Pesl (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart/Vortex), while the Monegasque driver Andrea Manni (KR Motorsport – KR/Iame) finished in fifth position.

OKJ – Miron wins the Final, while Pizzonia still leads the championship.

As usual, OKJ was incredibly lively and uncertain right up to the finish line of the Final, which was also marked by a start-line accident that forced a race stop. Once the race resumed, the battle remained intense until the end, with several changes of position between the Spaniard Daniel Miron Lorente (Fusion Motorsport – KR/Iame/Vega), the Russian Matvei Dergunov (Prima Racing – Energy/TM Kart), and the Italian Gioele Girardello (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin/TM Kart). They crossed the line in that order, with Miron ultimately securing the victory over Dergunov and Girardello. Also performing well were the Belgian Henri-Constant Kumpen (Ricky Flynn – LN Kart/TM Kart) in fourth and the Czech driver Zdenek Babicek (Tepz Racing Team – Tony Kart/Iame) in fifth. The Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia (Ward Racing – Parolin/TM Kart), winner of Prefinal-B, maintains his championship lead despite a ninth-place finish in the Final thanks to his earlier wins at La Conca and Viterbo, though Miron Lorente is now closing the gap.

MINI U10 – Burgess wins and builds a good margin in the championship.

The MINI U10 Final was a very exciting race where the championship leader Zayne Burgess (Parolin Motorsport – Parolin/TM Kart/Vega) managed to come out on top in a sprint finish. He crossed the line ahead of the two Prefinal winners: Thai driver Max Zvarich (BabyRace – Parolin/Iame) and fellow American Blake Hsueh (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart/Vortex). The Austrian second-generation driver Jack Fynn Wolff (KR Motorsport – KR/Iame) ended fourth after dominating the heats. Fifth place went to the Dutchman Denver Bos (Kidix – KR/Iame). With this victory, Burgess secures crucial points and extends his championship lead following his previous wins at La Conca and Sarno.

MINI Gr.3 – Frigerio claims his maiden win in WSK.

After the previous three rounds won by El Gahoudi (La Conca), Godschalk (Sarno), and Pace (Viterbo), Filippo Frigerio (BabyRace – Parolin/Iame/Vega) triumphed in Lonato. The young Italian driver won both the Prefinal and the Final, celebrating his first-ever victory in a WSK race. Starting from the second row of the grid, Frigerio managed to take the lead halfway through the race and finished ahead of Englishman Daniel Ferguson (Team Driver – KR/Iame). A sensational comeback was staged by a spectacular Wynn Godschalk (Kidix – KR/Iame), who fought his way from the back of the grid to secure a podium spot in third place on the final lap. This result puts the American driver back in contention for the title. Also among the top performers were the Spaniard Abraham Schelvis Moron (CRG Racing Team – T-Group/TM Kart) and the Mexican Matteo Garcia (Lenovo Kalì Kart Team – T-Group/TM Kart). In the championship standings, Daniel Ferguson has jumped into the lead.

OK-NJ – Perico dominates and clinches the title.

Niccolò Perico (KR Motorsport – KR/Iame/Vega) dominated and served as the undisputed protagonist of the category. This marks his fourth victory in the WSK Super Master Series across the four rounds held at La Conca, Sarno, Viterbo, and Lonato, with the title now firmly in his hands. After winning Prefinal-A, Perico crossed the finish line of the Final ahead of fellow Italian Luigi D’Ascoli (Modena Kart – Parolin/TM Kart), who had won Prefinal-B, and the German Sebastian Riedel (Team Driver – KR/Iame). Among the other top finishers, the Finnish driver Leo Laitinen (Parolin Finland – Parolin/TM Kart) secured fourth place, while the German Henri Moehring (Doerr Motorsport – KR/Iame) finished fifth.
