Lando Norris at the start of the WSK Open Cup in Adria to present his new kart

The McLaren Formula 1 driver chose the WSK Open Cup as the stage for launching his new kart that will make its official debut in 2022 under the brand LN Racing Kart. The weekend of the second round of the WSK Open Cup will kick off on Friday, October 1st with 253 entered drivers from 52 nations. Up for grabs are the titles of MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2.

All is set at the Adria Karting Raceway for the closing round of the WSK Open Cup that will run its second race in the weekend of October 1-3 and award the four titles of MINI, OKJ, OK and KZ2.

The WSK appointment had a special start on Thursday morning when McLaren Formula 1’s driver Lando Norris reached Adria to officially introduce the new kart bearing his initials in the brand: LN Racing Kart. The kart is produced by OTK Kart Group and will be competing in the most important international events including the WSK Series under the direction of the British Team Ricky Flynn Motorsport. Lando Norris wanted to strengthen his bond with karting, series in which he successfully kicked off his career. He won in fact the WSK Euro Series 2013 in KFJ and the KFJ European Championship in the same year, before winning the CIK-FIA KF World Championship in 2014.

The program of the WSK Open Cup in Adria kicked off on Wednesday and Thursday with free practice. The participation to this event is excellent as happened in Lonato. A total of 253 drivers entered the event from 52 nations. The participation in MINI is remarkable: 107 drivers from 35 nations! The first official on track-challenge will be on Friday, October 1st, during qualifying practice and heats. Further heats will follow on Saturday, while the final stages on Sunday, October 3rd, will enjoy Live Streaming coverage.
