DKM Heads into the Hot Phase of the Season in Kerpen

Munich – From August 15 to 17, the German Kart Championship (DKM) will enter the home stretch of its season. Three weeks after the thrilling mid-season round in Ampfing, the action now shifts to the historic Erftlandring in Kerpen, where the course will be set for the title race. With only two race weekends remaining, every point counts in the battle for the championship. Over 200 drivers will compete across six classes. Both race days will be streamed live on adac.de/motorsport and the ADAC Motorsport YouTube channel.

Competition is tight in all classes after the halfway point in Ampfing. Current points leaders Danilo Albanese (DKM), Marc Alexander Reistrup (DJKM), Jayden Thien (DSKC), Devin Titz (DMKM), Tom Wickop (X30 Junior) and Aaron Garcia Lopez (X30 Senior) arrive in Kerpen with momentum but must stay fully focused. Many of their closest rivals are only a few points behind, meaning even small mistakes could prove decisive in the title fight. The 1,107-meter Erftlandring is not only the venue for the fourth DKM event but also a piece of German motorsport history. It was here that German Formula 1 world champions Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel began their careers. The track retains its classic character, featuring a mix of long, fast straights and technically demanding corners.

A special highlight in Kerpen is also the “Road to DTM Trophy.” Here, three DKM drivers—Christiaan de Kleijn, Dion van Werven, and Markus Kajak—are battling for the top spot. The winner will have their entry fee for the 2026 ADAC GT4 Germany season covered by the ADAC and gain the chance to progress all the way to the DTM. Kerpen could prove decisive in determining who holds the best cards for securing the trophy.

From Friday onward, the more than 200 drivers will take to the track, aiming to find the right setup for the Erftlandring during four free practice sessions. Saturday will be dedicated to qualifying and heats, which will determine the starting grids for Sunday’s Super Heats and final races. The top 36 drivers in each class will compete in the finals from 14:00 onwards.
