The first official day of the WSK Euro Series at the Leopard Circuit Viterbo ended with the first qualifying heats on Thursday afternoon, after the morning's timed qualifying practice had highlighted the initial protagonists of this first round in the MINI, OKNJ, OKN, OKJ and OK categories.
The heats will then be completed on Friday to define the starting grids for the final phase, which will take place on Saturday, 17 May via Live TV Streaming, with the Prefinals from 9:50 am and the Finals from 1:30 pm.
The first qualifying heats.
MINI GR.3 - Hedfors and Di Pietrantonio got the two heats.
Two heats were run for the MINI GR.3. In the first A-B the victory went to the Swedish Elton Hedfors (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Kart-Vega), who won the heat ahead of the French Teo Pelfrene (Kidix/KR-Iame). The author of the pole position, Italian Achille Rea (Birelart Racing/Birelart-TM Kart), finished fifth. In the second heat C-D in the duel between the two Italians, Lorenzo Di Pietrantonio (Kidix/KR-Iame) and Niccolò Perico (Team Driver/KR-Iame), Di Pietrantonio got the better of the two in a sprint finish.

MINI U10 - It was Kovtunenko who took the win.
In heat-1 of the Mini U10, it was the Ukrainian Platon Kovtunenko (Borsch Racing/KR-Iame-Vega) who gained the satisfaction of victory after the unlucky performance of the Italian Daniel Pasquali (CRG Racing Team/T-Group-TM Kart) who had taken pole position in practice. Pasquali led only in the first laps, only to slip into the rear after a contact with an opponent. Behind Kovtunenko came the Dutchman Wynn Godschalk (Kidix/KR-Iame).

OK-NJ - Nice confirmation of Xie.
The Chinese Huifei Xie (Team Driver/KR-Iame-Vega) confirmed his victory also in heat-1 of the OK-NJ after having taken pole position in practice. Among his main rivals with second place is again the Swiss Albert Tamm (Modena Kart/Parolin-TM Kart), who had placed just 39 thousandths behind Xie in qualifying. Third place goes to the other Team Driver driver, the Ukrainian Oleksandr Legenkyi.

OKJ - Domain and Calleja prevail.
In OKJ the victory in heats A-B does not escape the Englishman Henry Domain (Forza Racing/Exprit-TM Kart-Vega), who had taken pole position in practice. Behind Domain finishes his teammate, the Panamanian Gianmatteo Rousseau. In the C-D heat, a good result was obtained by Domain's other teammate, the Australian William Calleja, ahead of the Brazilian Antonio Pizzonia (Fusion Motorsport/KR-Iame).

OK-N - Scognamiglio's flawless victory.
In the M1 heat, a flawless victory for the poleman Manuel Scognamiglio (Tellone Motorsport/Tony Kart-Iame-Vega), who confirms himself as the great protagonist of the category. Second place under the chequered flag goes to the Polish Juliusz Ociepa (Novalux/Lenzokart-LKE), but a 3-second penalty drops him to fourth. Second place went to the Italian Nicolas Marchesi (Team Driver/KR-Iame).

OK - Costoya absolute protagonist.
In the M1 heat of OK the absolute protagonist is the Spanish Christian Costoya (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Kart-LeCont) who, after having won in practice, also wins the first heat of the category plus live performance. Costoya precedes on the finish line the Italian Filippo Sala (Forza Racing/Exprit-TM Kart) and the English Zac Green (DPK/KR-Iame).
