Modena Kart: Victory at Franciacorta and double series podium in the WSK

Luigi d’Ascoli capped off a thoroughly successful WSK Super Master Series for Modena Kart Racing Team with a victory. At Franciacorta, the young Italian secured the runners-up title in the OK-N Junior class, whilst Sweden’s Elton Hedfors put a second Parolin-TM Kart on the series’ overall podium.

Another brilliant overall performance

Modena Kart Racing Team continued to build momentum throughout the five rounds of the 2026 WSK Super Master Series, racking up podium finishes and capping it all off with a brilliant victory courtesy of Luigi d’Ascoli. All eight of the team’s drivers secured their places in the Final, demonstrating the overall competitiveness of the equipment.

Luigi d’Ascoli - Since the first race at La Conca, Luigi has shown impressive progress with the team. Having already finished 2nd on the podium at Lonato, he won at Franciacorta after a controlled Final, as well as securing three wins out of three in the Qualifying Heats.

Atiqa Mir - The Indian driver put in a magnificent performance. Very fast in the heats (P5-P4-P5), she unfortunately suffered a collision in the Super Heat, before finishing P8 in the Final.

Nikita Dzhlilov - Nikita put in a solid performance in Lombardy, managing to finish P4 in one heat and P6 in the Super Heat before receiving a spoiler penalty. Starting P14 in the Final, he fought hard to hold his position and finish P13.

Elton Hedfors - Having set the fastest lap of the event to secure pole position, finishing P2 in the Qualifying Heats and P1 in the Super Heat, the Swede had the pace to challenge for victory. A collision at the start dropped him to 33rd, before a splendid comeback to 14th with the third-fastest lap of the race.

Danila Verba - The margins are so tight in OK-N Junior that the slightest penalty can cause a driver to lose a lot of places. Danila could therefore have finished the heats in P10 instead of P23. Thanks to a burst of speed, however, the Russian managed to climb back up to 16th in the Final.

Radu Basescu Pricop - In each of his races, the Romanian driver gained positions. At times he managed to climb 10 places and set two fastest laps in the race, proof of his speed. From 40th in Qualifying, he finished 18th in the Final!

Tommaso Corsi - His progress was confirmed by a well-deserved place among the finalists. He consistently improved his starting position in the three Qualifying Heats and in the Super Heat. Unfortunately, he retired halfway through the Final.

Ioannis Kolovos - Finishing 7th, 6th and 7th in the Qualifying Heats with a fastest lap in the race, Ioannis also led the field under the chequered flag in the Super Heat. He was clearly a contender for the podium, but his race unfortunately came to an end at the start of the Final.
