Karting has always been the proving ground of motorsport. It is where raw talent first reveals itself. But talent is only meaningful if it is exposed properly.
Since its inception, the Champions of the Future Academy Program has not only provided competition, it has also provided visibility. In an era where well-respected racing programs are identifying talent earlier than ever before, the championship has become a stage where emerging drivers can demonstrate their craft under the eyes of the sport’s most influential talent scouts.
Backed by the leading chassis partners Kart Republic and Parolin and engine manufacturers IAME and TM, the platform offers a professional environment designed not just to develop drivers, but to present them. And across its first two international seasons, that visibility has translated into opportunity.

2024: The Launch Season That Opened Doors
In its first season, COTFA immediately established itself as more than a competitive series. It became a bridge. James Anagnostiadis emerged as one of the championship’s defining figures, finishing the season as the highest points scorer across the season. Competing under the watchful eye of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, having been chosen to join their junior programme at the inaugural event in 2023, his performances did more than secure results, they strengthened belief.
Operating under the guidance of Mercedes’ Driver Development Advisor, Gwen Lagrue, Anagnostiadis demonstrated the ability to deliver under scrutiny, the very quality top level racing academies seek. His season did not just end in silverware, but in the continuation of his relationship with Mercedes into 2025 and beyond.
The same trajectory was followed by Luna Fluxa, who claimed the series’ OK-N Senior title in 2024 and retained her place within the Mercedes structure, thereafter progressing into the early stages of her single-seater career. Yet the opportunities extended beyond academy affiliations.
In 2024, the series began a long-term relationship with F1 Academy Discover Your Drive, a partnership that continues to strengthen the pathway for young female drivers today. F1 Academy champions the next generation of female talent, searching for the next woman to break into Formula 1 while also aiming to dramatically increase female participation in karting. A mission that is already proving successful.
Other team associations also existed in 2024. Among them was a partnership with Kick Sauber, which provided one of the program’s most tangible rewards: selected drivers were invited for a guided tour of the team’s operations within the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 paddock ahead of the race weekend.
For young drivers, this was more than a prize, it was immersion, offering access to the very environment they aspire to reach. Garages, engineers, race preparation and team operations were all experienced firsthand. The line between dreams and reality became just a little thinner thanks to the Champions of the Future Academy Program.

2025: Recognition in Real Time
By its second season, the championship’s reputation had grown, and so too had the top junior programmes’ presence. Where 2024 created visibility, 2025 began converting it into recruitment. Performances were no longer simply observed; they were acted upon, and a total of 8 F1 Junior Academy drivers competed in the series.
The F1 Academy Discover Your Drive initiative remained a key element of the programme in 2025 also and is set to continue again in 2026. All nine members of the 2025 cohort remain in motorsport for the upcoming season, with Bättig and Häkkinen both making the step into single-seater competition.
On track, the results spoke for themselves. Chiara Bättig was among the most consistent podium finishers, while Ella Häkkinen, Angelina Simons, Klara Kowalczyk and Victoria Farfus also secured trophies during the year.
At the opening round in Portimão, Chiara Bättig immediately drew attention with a pole position performance broadcast to a global audience via live stream and timing. It was not long before Oracle Red Bull Racing formalised that interest, adding her to their junior structure during the season itself.

Wynn Godschalk followed a similar path, and he, too, was given his Red Bull wings. Consistently maintaining top three finishes in the Mini 60 category, his maintained competitiveness did not go unnoticed. By late 2025, Red Bull had extended their support to Wynn as well, a reflection of the championship’s ability to spotlight consistency as much as outright victory.
Another defining success story emerged in the Mini category.
Niccolò Perico secured the 2025 Mini Championship title, a season built on composure, pace and consistency under pressure. His performances throughout the year placed him firmly within the sightlines of Formula 1 talent scouts, and it has now been confirmed that he has joined the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team’s junior structure. In doing so, Perico becomes the latest example of the championship translating performance into progression.
In the Junior class, the 2025 season gave Many Nuvolini the opportunity to demonstrate that his signing with Mercedes was a serious long-term investment. After remaining in title contention all the way to the final round in the UAE, he proved his value to the team and showed that a contract renewal for 2026 would be a fitting next step.
McLaren’s presence was also felt through their backing of Ella Häkkinen, whose performances across the season, most notably a podium finish in Slovakia, reinforced her standing as a driver capable of delivering when it mattered.
And once again, the rewards extended beyond the podium. In collaboration with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, drivers were granted further paddock access opportunities in Abu Dhabi, continuing the Academy’s commitment to turning performance into exposure.

A Platform Designed to be seen
Across both seasons, a clear pattern has emerged. The Champions of the Future Academy Program is not simply shaping drivers; it is positioning them.
It has become a meeting point between talent and opportunity, where performances are not confined to timing sheets but amplified to organisations such as Mercedes-AMG Petronas, Oracle Red Bull Racing, Kick Sauber, McLaren and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.
In modern motorsport, progression is no longer just about winning, it is about being recognised, and year by year, the championship has proven itself to be a place where that recognition can begin. Within the Champions of the Future Academy Program, high-level racing programs are watching.
