The Formula K SRP Factory Team and the highly competitive IPK-TM Kart line-up have just delivered an extraordinary performance at the major FIA Karting World Championship event for the KZ categories at the Le Mans circuit:

• A one-two finish in the KZ2 World Cup with Markus Kajak and Arthur Lehouck
• KZ World Vice-Champion with Emilien Denner

The podium at the very highest level

Having already been crowned KZ European Champion following his victory at Sarno, Emilien Denner confirmed his exceptional competitiveness, and that of his kart, at an even higher level. The World Championship is the toughest and most demanding event of the season, but the Formula K SRP Factory Team ensured its drivers were in the best possible position to reach the very top.
 

“The World Championship got off to a bad start for me with a collision. That’s why I wasn’t able to challenge the winner in the Final, as I was only 4th on the starting grid due to a collision in a Qualifying Heat. Thanks to the whole team for preparing such a high-performance kart for me throughout the season: European Champion and World Vice-Champion, it’s incredible,” said Emilien Denner.
 

David Trefilov, who was an excellent 3rd in Qualifying whilst racing in Praga colours, also experienced a few setbacks before the Final, before fighting his way back to 10th place.

Impressive dominance in the KZ2 World Cup

The very first Qualifying Heat in KZ2 set the tone: four drivers in IPK colours were in the top four places on the starting grid. At Le Mans, the drivers in this category were divided into two groups. Having already secured a sensational pole position on Friday, Arthur Lehouck topped Group 1, whilst Markus Kajak led Group 2. At the wheel of their IPK chassis, both the Frenchman and the Estonian won their Super Heats and shared the front row on the starting grid for the Final.
 

Kajak produced a perfect race with a blistering start and the fastest lap of the race, whilst Lehouck secured a sensational one-two finish for the Italian brand. Whilst Germany’s Oliver Städtler and France’s Léni Robillot Lagache enjoyed less success despite having been among the frontrunners throughout the weekend, the Czech driver Matej Preuss rounded off the team’s strong showing by placing a third IPK chassis in the top five.
 

A fourth podium finish was on the cards for the Formula K SRP Factory Team, as Davide Fore was in 3rd place in the International Supercup KZ2 Masters Final before he retired. It was a real shame, given that he had secured pole position on Friday and was running right on the heels of the top two before his mishap.
