Jonny Edgar (16, England, Van Amersfoort Racing) delivered an outstanding performance in the last race of the season at Oschersleben to wrap up the ADAC Formula 4 championship after catching and overtaking team-mate Jak Crawford (15, USA). Red Bull Junior Edgar went on a strong charge from seventh place on the grid in the final race of the year to finish in P2 and bank enough points to clinch the championship. After his two victories in the first two races at Oschersleben, Crawford went into the final race nine points ahead of Edgar. However, he made hardly any progress from eighth on the grid and ultimately had to settle for sixth. After 21 thrilling races this season, the title in the ADAC High-Speed Academy was decided by just two points. And amid all the excitement, Rookie champion Tim Tramnitz (15, Germany, US Racing) was recording a maiden win in the series.

French teenager Victor Bernier (16, R-ace GP) registered his second ADAC Formula 4 victory of the season in a spectacular third race at the DEKRA Lausitzring on Sunday, while British driver Jonny Edgar (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) further cemented his title claim by finishing fourth. After a dramatic DNF for his team-mate and main rival Jak Crawford (15, USA), who won the second round on Sunday morning, Edgar now takes a 23-point advantage into the grand finale next weekend at Oschersleben. Meanwhile, joy knew no bounds for Tim Tramnitz (15, Germany, US Racing) as the ADAC Sports Foundation protégé clinched the Best Rookie classification ahead of time with two strong performances on Sunday.

Jonny Edgar (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) appears to be well on course to win the ADAC Formula 4 championship title. The British teenager took his fifth victory of the season at the Red Bull Ring in Austria and further extended his lead at the top of the table. Edgar beat off competition in the first round of the weekend from France’s Victor Bernier (16, R-ace GP) and Jak Crawford (15, USA, Van Amersfoort Racing) and now heads the overall standings with a 40-point lead on the American. Two more races on the famous track near Spielberg in Styria are set to follow tomorrow. Edgar will again be on pole for the start of Race 2 on Sunday.

Lausitzring: It was a double-dream start for Jonny Edgar at the Lausitzring, as the Van Amersfoort Racing 16-year-old won the first race of the ADAC Formula 4 season. The Red Bull Junior from England seized the initiative with a lightning-fast start from third place on the grid and followed up with an assured drive. Second place went to Joshua Dürksen (16, Berlin, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) ahead of Finland's Elias Seppänen (16) who drives for reigning team champions US Racing. ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Tim Tramnitz (15, US Racing) from Hamburg was fifth overall and Best Rookie.
