The FIA Karting European Championship got underway in Spain for the OK and OK-Junior categories. Dry weather accompanied the competitors for four days. At Franciacorta from 13th to 16th September, several drivers equipped with KR chassis were not only preparing for the forthcoming FIA Karting World Championship. Their aim was also to fight for the championship titles in the Champions of the Future Euro Series. In OK, Joe Turney concluded with a magnificent victory, while Alex Powell took the crown. KR Global Motorsport Company even claimed an unprecedented quadruple in the overall standings with Kean Nakamura Berta taking 2nd place, giving Prema Racing the double ahead of Joe Turney and Enzo Tarnvanichkul. In the OK-Junior class, Thibaut Ramaekers battled steadily in the leading group to finish 3rd in the Euro Series, while Augustus Toniolo took 3rd place on the podium.

Crowned European KZ Champion in July with Danilo Albanese, the KR Motorsport team has now won the supreme title of FIA Karting World Champion - KZ with Paolo Ippolito. KR chassis and IAME engines confirmed their very high potential in the gearbox categories. At Wackersdorf, Stan Pex (SP Motorsport) completed the podium in the premier class and Alex Powell finished 2nd in the KZ2 World Cup, while Kean Nakamura-Berta set the fastest lap of the race. KR Motorsport won the FIA Karting team title in KZ and Prema Racing was runner-up in KZ2 in its first year.

On Sunday morning, the Super Heats had already given a glimpse of the competition at Wackersdorf. But that was nothing compared to the afternoon's Finals, which produced a breathtaking spectacle with many unexpected twists and turns.
