Kart CRG: Spotlight on the KZ category at the 3rd round of the WSK Super Master Series

The 3rd  Round of the WSK Super Master Series will take place on the Sarno circuit from 1st to 5th  March, with the usual Mini, OK Junior, OK and KZ classes competing on the track. On this occasion, all eyes will be on the KZ category, as the 2nd and final round of the European Championship will take place right here on the Sarno racetrack.

The CRG Racing Team will be taking part in the event with 7 drivers in the top class with the aim of starting the preparations for the FIA event in July. Alongside the two 2022 Champions Arthur Carbonnel and Viktor Gustafsson, there will also be Jeremy Iglesias, Paavo Tonteri, Brandon Nilsson, Andrea Bosetto, and Jorge Pescador, who will make his seasonal debut with the Kalì Kart colours. The CRG Team line-up will be completed by the Polish Klara Kowalczyk in OK Junior and by the 5 official MINI drivers: Luuk Taal, Asher Ochstein, Bruno Blanco, Cristian Blandino and Achille Rea. Overall, over 250 drivers will take part in the event and there will certainly be a great show in all categories. The weather, which is expected to be unstable until Saturday might be a variable and could condition the qualifying stages for the Finals on Sunday.

Access to the circuit as in all WSK events will be free, while those who want to follow the event from home, can count on the Live Timing which will be active from Friday morning and the Live Streaming on Sunday on the official WSK website (www.wskarting. it).

CRG drivers’ expectations:

Jorge Pescador (KZ): “I am very excited for this first race of the season and I really want to get back driving among the big names in karting, after I have dedicated myself more to the Kalì Kart project in Spain in the first few months of this season as a Team Manager. The European Championship will be one of my goals as a driver this year and this WSK race is an excellent opportunity to start the preparation by working on all the important points, from the chassis to the engines. We have a fairly intense work schedule and we hope that the weather won't complicate the weekend too much".

Klara Kowalczyk (OK Junior): “This weekend will be another useful race for me to learn and increase my feeling with the OK Junior, before the start of the FIA Championships. The balance after the Franciacorta race is positive for me because I have constantly improved my performances, thanks to the growing feeling with the chassis and the team. From this race, I expect a further step forward in this direction and one of the goals I have set for myself will be to work on the basis of Qualifying Practices, so that I can start in a better position on the grid in the Heats, outside the tussle of the center of the group which, in the first races of the year has affected my weekends a bit”.

Luuk Taal (MINI): “In the first WSK rounds of the year we have shown that the CRG-TM package in the MINI category is very competitive, with the entire team showing positive performances in every race with all 5 drivers. In my specific case, I have collected much less than my potential, due to some unlucky episodes and my goal here in Sarno will be to have a solid race with the best to get in the conditions to fight for a good placement in the Final on Sunday".
