Hiyu’s motorsport journey started on the karting circuits at 8 years old, competing in various karting championships. He gained valuable experience in the karting field with one of his highlights finishing 2nd overall in the IAME Series Japan – X30 Junior in 2020. Since joining VAR for the Italian F4 and Euro 4 Championships in 2024, Hiyu has shown his resilience on track, delivering consistently strong performances. Competing in the 2025 season will give him the chance to test his skills on Europe’s most prestigious circuits. The team is proud to support Hiyu as he tackles this new challenge in the competitive FRECA field.

Rob Niessink, CEO of Van Amersfoort Racing, commented, “We’re delighted to welcome Hiyu to our FRECA lineup for 2025. Hiyu Yamakoshi shared his enthusiasm for the new season, stating, “I’m really looking forward to racing with VAR again in FRECA. We had a very successful 2024 together in F4 with a lot of wins and podiums, so I’m hoping to continue this is 2025 with the team and aiming to fight for the Championship together!”

The 2025 FRECA season promises to be an exciting journey for Hiyu and the entire VAR team.
