Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine: the title fight heads to Hockenheim

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine enters its penultimate round of the 2025 season at Hockenheim, with the championship battle wide open and everything still to be decided. At the top of the standings, Freddie Slater (Prema Racing) and Matteo De Palo (Trident Motorsport) arrive tied on 226 points after a season of duels that has showcased the consistency and speed of both drivers. With just two rounds remaining, every session in Germany will prove decisive in shaping the outcome of the title.

Hot on their heels are Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP) and Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing), level on 198 points and both determined to close the gap. Deligny has collected three wins so far, including his latest at Barcelona, while Clerot continues to impress with consistency and two victories this season, at Zandvoort and Red Bull Ring. Behind them, Akshay Bohra (R-ace GP, 133 pts) and Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix, 125 pts) remain solid contenders for podiums, each having shown race-winning pace at different stages of the season.

Rashid Al Dhaheri (Prema Racing, 95 pts) and Hiyu Yamakoshi (Van Amersfoort Racing, 86 pts) continue their push inside the top ten, closely followed by Taito Kato (ART Grand Prix, 71 pts). Nikita Bedrin (Saintéloc Racing) and Jin Nakamura (R-ace GP) are tied on 64 points, while Jack Beeton (Prema Racing, 32 pts) and Kanato Le (ART Grand Prix, 26 pts) look to strengthen their positions in the midfield. In the rookie ranks, Dion Gowda (Van Amersfoort Racing, 22 pts) leads the classification, while Michael Belov (CL Motorsport, 21 pts) rounds out the top 15, bringing valuable experience to the field.

The weekend format at Hockenheim promises a busy schedule of action. Track activities begin on Friday, October 3, with two Collective Tests at 09:00 and 13:23, before an unusual late-afternoon Qualifying 1 at 17:25. On Saturday, Qualifying 2 takes place at 10:10, followed by Race 1 at 16:35. The event concludes on Sunday morning with Race 2 at 10:20.

With the title fight on a knife-edge, Hockenheim is set to play a crucial role in deciding the destiny of the 2025 season before the grand finale at Monza.
