2026 gets off to a flying start for Modena Kart

After a successful season in 2025, Modena Kart Racing Team returned to competition with the same motivation, an ever-strong desire to win and a very high level of competitiveness. During the first of five rounds of the WSK Super Master Series at La Conca, the Italian team's Parolin-TM Kart equipment was present in large numbers in the OK-N Junior Final, as well as at the forefront of the action. The best result went to Sweden's Elton Hedfors, who finished an excellent 4th, just two tenths of a second off the podium!

Modena Kart Racing Team represents 21% of the field in OK-N Junior

The winning team of the 2025 FIA Karting World Cup had the largest number of drivers in the OK-N Junior category in southern Italy. The technical staff and managers prepared perfectly for the new season, which was confirmed as soon as the drivers entered the challenging La Conca circuit.

Excellent overall results

In a perfect working atmosphere, the team based at La Conca was delighted with the determination of its drivers and the efforts they made despite the difficult weather conditions, with frequent switching between slick and rain tyres.

Elton Hedfors - Winner of one Qualifying Heat and 3rd in the other two, the Swede was in contention for the podium in the Final alongside five other drivers. His 4th place finish bodes well for the rest of the season.

Alessandro Nanni - The Italian set the fastest time in Saturday's warm-up, which was dominated by Modena Kart Racing Team with five drivers in the top six (P2 Hedfors, P3 Mirabella, P4 D'Ascoli and P6 Verba). P4 in one heat, P5 in Prefinal B and finally P11 in the Final, Nanni showed his full potential.

Atiqa Mir - The Indian was quick at Muro Leccese: P4 in Qualifying and in the top six in two heats, she climbed back up to P14 in the Final after a DNS in the Prefinal.

Federico Mirabella - Brilliant P3 in Qualifying and P2 in Heat 1, the Italian was the victim of an incident in Heat 2. Unfortunately, the doctor did not allow him to continue.

Danila Verba - The Russian set the fastest lap in Prefinal B and made several notable gains during the event.

Radu Basescu Pricop - By gaining 11 places in the Qualifying Heats to finish P2, the Romanian proved he was capable of doing very well.

Luigi D'Ascoli - Already a superb 6th in Prefinal B, the Italian managed to move up 10 places in the Final to finish in the top 20.

Tommaso Corsi - Competing in Mini in 2025, the young Italian gained a lot of experience at La Conca. His progress in OK-N Junior is only just beginning!

Analysis by Gabriele Finocchi, Modena Kart Team Principal

"The 2026 season is off to a very positive start. Modena Kart Racing Team continues to demonstrate its expertise, particularly in the OK-N Junior category. We had many drivers at the front of the field at La Conca, and we will do everything we can to ensure this continues at the next round in Sarno. I congratulate all our drivers for their performances, especially Elton Hedfors for his 4th place in the Final."

Comment From Alessandro Palloni, Modena Kart Team Manager

“As we might expect at this time of year, the weather conditions were changeable: rain, dry, drying track, unstable temperatures. We always managed to go in the right direction with the technical team led by Gionata Finocchi. Once again, the Parolin chassis proved to be very effective, as did the TM Karts from M.A. Engines.”
