One of the most anticipated events of the season has just started in Lonato (ITA) on the Lombard track of South Garda Karting. The programme is tantalising with the FIA ​​Karting World Championship - KZ, the FIA ​​Karting International Super Cup - KZ2, the third FIA Karting Academy Trophy Competition and the FIA ​​Karting Historic Super Cup. In the late afternoon, Friday, 20th September, the Qualifying Practices set the first benchmarks for a top level sporting challenge that promises to be as intense as it is spectacular. Adrien Renaudin (FRA) shone in KZ, Emilien Denner (FRA) in KZ2 and Kajus Siksnelis (LTU) was fastest in the Academy.

The South Garda Karting race track in Lonato will host the much-awaited FIA World Karting Championships in KZ and Super Cup KZ2. CRG is the manufacturer with the highest number of drivers. It will be in Italy, on the renovated South Garda Karting race track of Lonato del Garda, where the international FIA Karting season-ending event will take place, featuring the much-awaited World Championships for KZ and Supercup KZ2. Everything is ready on the South Garda Karting for the KZ FIA Karting World Championship and the KZ2 International Super Cup. The target of the Tony Kart Racing Team is to complete a season, always run at high-level, and say goodbye in the best way possible to our Marco Ardigò, racing his last World Championship.

The World Karting Championship will kick off on Wednesday, September 18th at the South Garda Karting circuit. The Live Timing feed will be active since free practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Qualifying will follow on Friday, heats on Saturday and Sunday morning as the finals will close the event on Sunday afternoon. 

Parolin Racing Kart's efforts extend to every category in Karting. Noted for several seasons by its dominance among the youngest drivers, Parolin also benefits from its success in Junior and OK to increase its presence throughout the market. In Finland, at the FIA ​​Karting World Championship - OK and Junior, the Italian brand was the third largest chassis manufacturer with 16 drivers entered in its colours. Meanwhile, the performance was there with Racing Team drivers Gabriele Mini' in OK and James Wharton in Junior.

The Lonato track made its return to the international calendar last year with the organisation of the second Competition of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2, but we need to go back to 1996 for the last World meeting on the South Garda Karting circuit with the CIK-FIA World Championship for Formula A and Super A. The Competition, which will take place from 19th to 22nd September on the most popular Italian circuit, is, therefore, a highly anticipated event in the world of karting. The FIA ​​Karting World Championship - KZ, the FIA ​​Karting International Super Cup - KZ2, the third FIA Karting Academy Trophy Competition and the sixth edition of the FIA ​​Karting Historical Super Cup have more than 260 entries, a very high number for the most part due to the Lonato effect. 52 countries from five continents will be represented, Italy taking pride of place with nearly a quarter of the entry. A large audience of enthusiasts will be able to watch in the stands at this extraordinary event.

The young Brazilian driver made a strong impression during the FIA ​​Junior Karting World Championship which took place in early September in Finland. He finished his second season in the OK-Junior category on the second step of the World podium at the end of a particularly difficult competition with more than a hundred participants.

Thanks to a new regulation adopted for the 2019 World Championships, the drivers were able to use an extra set of slick tyres for the Final, guaranteeing perfect sporting equality for all. Lorenzo Travisanutto won his duel with Juho Valtanen, the leader at the start of the race. At the end, the Finn was unable to counter the final rush of the two Britons Taylor Barnard and Harry Thompson, who accompanied the Italian champion on the podium. The excitement of the many spectators gathered around the circuit testified to the intensity of this Final. For LeCont, it was a new technological challenge that has been successfully met. 

Organised this year in Finland, the FIA ​​Karting World Championship in OK was a great sporting and popular success. In front of full stands, Lorenzo Travisanutto won a second consecutive world crown after an exciting Final. At a meeting with extremely changeable weather conditions, LeCont tyres played their role perfectly, ensuring performance, consistency and sporting fairness, both in the dry and the wet.

Kajus Siksnelis conquers the third step of the podium in the FIA Karting World Championship – Junior in Alahärmä, preceding the official driver Josep Maria Martì. During the intense weekend, the Tony Kart - Vortex duo shows all his qualities even in the hardest conditions.

Wonderful weekend at the Powerpark Circuit in Alahärmä, Finland, where our DJT engine pushes Thomas Ten Brinke towards the victory of the FIA Karting World Championship – Junior. The success is completed by the podiums conquered by Siksnelis, also in OKJ, and Thompson, third in OK with the DST engine.

Apulian Alex Irlando didn’t leave a mark in the FIA Karting OK World Championship held in Alahärmä, Finland.  After the positive training race at the end of August, no one could have imaginated such a complicated OK World Championship for Alex Irlando. The BirelART driver doesn’t qualify for the final race and his fight for the World crown finishes on Sunday morning after heats.

The 2019 FIA Karting World Championship in Finland proved to be a much more difficult race than expected for all competitors. On the Alahärmä circuit, where drivers lacked experience, the changeable weather added to the harshness of the situation. Despite the extremely difficult conditions, the Birel ART team never gave up and took several of their drivers to the Finals. And especially, the Italian Cristian Bertuca, who managed to earn his place in the top 10. 

The wet asphalt betrayed Bortoleto at the start of the OK final (4^th in the starting grid). Vieira Galli was immediately out for a contact as well, whilst a double penalty in the heats deprived Hiltbrand of the qualification for the final, so as for Gallo and Hakalehto in OKJ.

Australian James Wharton’s hopes of victory at the FIA World Junior Karting Championship expired on lap five of the main event in Finland overnight. Following a successful run throughout the heat races, Wharton started the 21-lap final from fourth position before slotting himself into second on the opening lap. The 13 year-old then matched the pace of the race leader aboard his Parolin chassis on the wet track for the ensuing laps.

The 2019 FIA ​​Karting World Championship - OK and Junior has been awarded at the Finnish circuit of Alahärmä and has rewarded two highly-talented Drivers after a particularly difficult Competition. Lorenzo Travisanutto (ITA) won his second consecutive World title in OK, while Thomas Ten Brinke (NLD) was crowned Junior Champion after dominating with flying colours. The spectacular layout of the Power Park circuit, the high number of enthusiastic spectators and the quality of the welcome made this Competition a memorable event.

The 2019 FIA ​​Karting World Championship - OK and Junior will take place in Finland from 6th to 8th September at the Alahärmä Powerpark circuit. A much-anticipated event for this country of motorsport enthusiasts, the major world event promises to be full of suspense on a spectacular and fast track with a big field of more than 200 Drivers, gathering the best talents from 44 nations on five continents.
