Alex Irlando concludes 19^th a tough weekend in Le Mans that makes him slip to P16 in the general standing. Not the weekend he was expecting for: the last time Alex Irlando raced on the French track he won the CIK-FIA Endurance Championship, whilst this time he had to settle for 19^th after an impressive comeback in the final.

In the wake of his podium finish at the Swedish Grand Prix at Kristianstad, Luigi Coluccio again raised the colours of the Birel ART brand in the Final of the European OK Championship. On the prestigious international circuit of Le Mans, the young Italian was in the fight to integrate once again the coveted top three, when a cruel accident put an end to his performance a few tens of metres from the finish. Coluccio and Birel ART will most definitely be planning to take revenge at the World Championship in September.

It was not until the last Final of the season that the FIA Karting European Champions - OK & Junior 2019 were decided. Strategy was at the heart of the Le Mans Competition where the battles were numerous and spectacular. The 2018 OK World Champion Lorenzo Travisanutto won his first European title, while the youngster Marcus Amand was crowned Junior European Champion to close a particularly tough weekend.

Next to the legendary 24 Hours Circuit and not far from the Bugatti Circuit, the Le Mans Karting International Circuit is bathed in a unique sporting atmosphere. The 1384 metres of the new circuit opened in 2013 recall the many World Karting Championships that took place on the old Alain Prost circuit in the 1970s to the 1990s. In this temple of motorsport, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest has built state-of-the-art facilities surrounding a fast track, conducive to slipstreaming and tight clashes up until the last lap.

The original situation generated by Qualifying Practice, combined with the importance of this final Competition of the FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior, increased the pressure on Saturday, 20th July on the Le Mans circuit. The 24 Heats on the programme were often the scene of fierce clashes in the two categories that are dominated for the moment by Gabriele Minì (ITA) and Andrea Kimi Antonelli (ITA) before the last Heats remaining on Sunday morning.

The French Kart Grand Prix started in hot sunshine on Friday, 19th July on the circuit of Le Mans. Once the final Free Practice was over, the 146 participants of the fourth and final FIA Karting European Championship - OK & Junior Competition went out for their Qualifying Practice. Martinius Kleve Stenshorne (NOR) and Kobe Pauwels (BEL) were the Polemen of the day for the first time.

From the 19th to 21st July, the round awarding the FIA Karting European Championship Titles will take place in Le Mans, with the Tony Kart drivers ready to fight for the victory. The FIA Karting European Championship 2019, dedicated to the direct-drive classes, is about to end. Our Racing Team will take part, as always, in the conclusive event in Le Mans, France, after a short break from competitions, where they better prepared and even improved the Tony Kart Racer 401 R – Vortex couple, already author of excellent performances throughout the year.

The 2019 FIA ​​Karting European Championship - OK & Junior started and will be completed in France, as the fourth and final Competition will be held at the Le Mans circuit on 19th to 21st July. The first three Competitions revealed different hierarchies according to the terrain and the conquest of both titles remains uncertain among a handful of strong contenders.

The young Luxembourg "lion" Maxime Furon-Castelain has confirmed his steady progress at the forefront of the Academy Trophy despite a technical problem. There was a change of scenery for the second round of the FIA ​​Karting Academy Trophy: after the winding circuit and cool weather of Wackersdorf (DEU), the young talents of the karting world found themselves, in a heat wave, at the Sarno (ITA) track near Naples in mid June.

With a new crown in Italy with the Swedish driver Emil Skaras, Energy Corse is more than ever the most successful team in KZ2 over the last 15 years. In total, Energy Corse has seven European KZ2 Championships, a World victory and a 2nd place in the KZ2 International Super Cup, a European KZ Championship and countless podiums in the FIA ​​Karting events! After the magnificent success for Skaras at Wackersdorf, "Energy Power" still shone over Sarno!

On the fast Naples International Circuit, Tony Kart centers the victory in the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship with Lorenzo Camplese.

At Sarno, the CPB Sport Sodi-TM karts have amassed an outstanding trophy collection in the final round of the European KZ2 Championship. Emilien Denner took the victory and the opportunity to finish as 2019 European Vice-Champion. On Italian soil, Jean Nomblot completed the French team's triumph by mounting the podium, highlighting the very high performance of the Sodi chassis.

Fabian Federer had to retire from the Final of the KZ2 European Championship after hitting several technical problems connected to the very high temperatures. The next round on track for Maranello Kart is WSK Euro Series in Lonato next June 23rd.

The second and final event of the European KZ2 Championship, raced under the overwhelming heat near Naples (ITA), will be remembered in karting as a major event for Sodikart. While the official Sodi drivers were fighting for the KZ title, three young drivers were making a splash by monopolising the KZ2 Final podium with a rare triple win at this level.

BirelART's Alex Irlando was flying to his first KZ title when, on second lap, a contact forced him to retire. Bitter Sunday in Sarno for Alex Irlando: after an amazing weekend he had to give up the fight for the European crown. The Apulian started the weekend greatly missing the pole position by only 0.041".

The Birel ART's of the Lissone factory's official racing service impressed with their top performances at the Sarno circuit during the second round of the European Championship. Alessandro Irlando in KZ and Riccardo Longhi in KZ2 positioned themselves as serious favourites in the double title race.

After the extraordinary Finals, two FIA Karting European Champions were crowned in Sarno after confounding most of the predictions: Jorrit Pex (NLD) won for the third time in KZ and Emil Skaras (SWE) for the first time in KZ2, while  the Finals were won respectively by Lorenzo Camplese (ITA) and Emilien Denner (FRA). In the second of the three Competitions of the FIA ​​Karting Academy Trophy, Oleksandr Partyshev (UKR) took his first victory.

The Circuito Internazionale Napoli of Sarno is preparing to host the first Italian Kart Grand Prix from 14th to 16th June 2019. While the young Drivers of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy will be competing in the second of their three Competitions, the FIA Karting European Championship - KZ & KZ2 will finish at the foot of Vesuvius.
