Wackersdorf kicks off second half of the DKM season
After the double serve in Kerpen, the German Kart Championship is now entering the second half of the season in the Prokart Raceland Wackersdorf. On the race track in the Upper Palatinate, 115 drivers compete in the five predicates and could already ensure the first preliminary decisions in the fight over the title.
The German Kart Championship 2020 had a strange start. Due to the Corona pandemic, the shortened season only began at the beginning of August and then took place twice in a row at the Erftlandring in Kerpen. However, drivers and teams showed understanding and continue to ensure high-calibre fields of participants.
After Juho Valtanen (DKM), Kris Haanen (DJKM), Jorrit Pex (DSKM) and Julian Müller (DSKC) were crowned half-time champions in the last run, new challenges await on the 1,197-meter-long track. As one of the most modern facilities in Germany, the Prokart Raceland once again offers a usual professional environment.

Despite numerous restrictions, the German Kart Championship continues to hold on to its extensive live coverage in 2020. At the last round in Kerpen, the live stream rejoiced a record response, which motivates the team, even more, to bring the suburban action into the home living room. At the same time, there are again background insights on the social media channels of the DKM and DEKM.
Are the proportions of power shifting in Wackersdorf?
Due to the double event in Kerpen, single drivers were able to play to their full strength on the Erftlandring. Now a new track is introduced, the Prokart Raceland. In the juniors, Dutch driver Kris Haanen (SFR Motorsport) leads the list of rankings and already has a cushion of 36 points on his worst chaser Herolind Nurdedini (KSM Official Racing Team).
A similar proportion of power prevails in the German Switching Kart Championship (DSKM). Here, six-time champion Jorrit Pex (SP Racing) leads the list of rankings ahead of his brother and reigning champion Stan Pex (SP Racing). Fabian Federer (SRP Racing Team) is also in striking distance in third place.
The distances in the DKM and the DSKC are much narrower. The Finnish driver Juho Valtanen (TB Racing Team) took the lead in the DKM class with a strong performance at the second race in Kerpen and recently also showed a strong performance on international soil. In the DMSB Shifter-Kart-Cup Julian Müller (Mach1 Motorsport) currently only has four points advantage over Coen Doorn from the Netherlands.
DEKM with Wackersdorf double stroke
Already in the beginning of September, the German Electric Kart Championship visited Wackersdorf as part of another racing series and is now returning to the Upper Palatinate. The winners back then were Axel La Flamme from Great Britain and the Italian driver Diego Stifter. A total of five drivers are close together in the overall standings and are fighting for the title in the world's first pure e-car separation series.
Extensive hygiene concept makes implementation possible
In order to protect the spread of the Corona pandemic, the German Kart Championship also makes sure of an extensive safety and hygiene concept in Wackersdorf. As with the races in Kerpen, every person involved in the race carries a personal transponder, which secures close contacts in a database and thus enables effective contact tracking.
