Birel ART provided perfect service in Portimao during the 22nd edition of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. The drivers in the DD2 Max and Micro Max categories, a total of 108 competitors representing no less than 44 nationalities, were able to take advantage of high quality equipment, which ensured the sporting fairness so important to Rotax. The intensity of the races confirmed the technical and sporting expertise of the Italian factory.

This year, the collaboration between Sodikart and BRP-Rotax was again successful for the 22nd edition of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final, which took place in Portugal, at the Kartodrómo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão from 19th to 26th November. With a record number of 394 Rotax racers from more than 60 nations, who earned their ticket during the 2022 season, the event also saw the biggest kart line-up ever in the history of the RMC Grand Finals.

The ‘best of the best’ in each of the Rotax classes will ensure the race action will be sensational as ever once the competition gets underway mid-week, following the initial practice sessions. We look back at yesterday, when the 2022 RMC Grand Finals were truly opened via the Welcome Briefing in the morning. 394 drivers received their brand new karts through the customary raffle on the main start-finish straight underneath the beautifully sunlit Portuguese skyline. Along with that, drivers would also head to the nearby Autodromo Internacional do Algarve for the mandatory briefings that afternoon, with the paddock tent being a busy hive of activity all day long as the brand-new karts would be prepared fully, with every nut and bolt tightened and fastened.

The 22nd edition of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals will take place this year in Portugal, at the Kartodrómo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão from 19th to 26th November, with 394 drivers from more than 60 countries. Another milestone in the long-lasting history of Rotax Karting took place this week: the 125.000th edition of a Rotax 125 MAX engine left the assembly line at BRP-Rotax in Gunskirchen, Austria. Introduced in 1997, the Rotax 125 MAX engine can proudly be named a success story.
