This year, the collaboration between Sodikart and BRP-Rotax was again successful for the 22nd edition of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final, which took place in Portugal, at the Kartodrómo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão from 19th to 26th November. Since 2010, Sodikart has been a loyal partner of the Rotax world event as a chassis supplier. The French factory, world leader in the kart industry, has fulfilled its mission perfectly to deliver more than 180 fully assembled chassis in four of the eight categories racing in Portugal and to satisfy 178 drivers from 56 nations from five continents.
At the end of an intense week of competition, Sodikart's General Manager, Bertrand Pignolet said:
"Managing to equip two major categories with chassis, Junior Max and Senior Max, plus the two electric categories E20 Junior and Senior, i.e. four categories in total, is very satisfying for Sodikart. The Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final remains a unique event in its philosophy and implementation. It is the only world-class competition where you can't buy your place. The drivers must qualify in their country to compete on equal terms as everyone has the same equipment, drawn at random. In spirit as well in form, it is the equivalent of the Olympic Games for karting. The talent of the drivers makes the difference, it's pure sport as we like it.
Sodikart is proud to provide high-performance chassis to highlight the potential of the drivers. The results obtained at the top of international competition attest to the quality of our products. For only our third season in OK-Junior, we have finished 2nd in the World Championship and 3rd in the European Championship. In Portimão, the Sodikart team was made up of a dozen people to ensure the availability of the karts, advise the drivers and their mechanics and provide them with all the necessary parts if needed. Members of the Sodi Racing Team, KZ drivers Senna van Walstijn and Emilien Denner were also present to represent Sodikart to the competitors.
