E10 Mini enters RMC Racing and Grand Finals Competition

Gunskirchen, Austria – Following the market introduction of the Rotax E10, BRP-Rotax is bringing electric karting into competitive RMC (Rotax MAX Challenge) racing. The E10 Mini will now feature as a dedicated category in selected Rotax MAX Challenge championships and race events worldwide, where drivers can qualify for the RMC Grand Finals. The E10 category will debut on the international stage this year in Portimão, Portugal.

At the RMC Grand Finals, 36 drivers will compete in a dedicated E10 Mini class on identical equipment. As with all RMCGF entries, seats cannot be purchased – they must be won on track through performance and participation.

A New Category, A New Energy

Developed entirely in-house by BRP-Rotax, the E10 is an electric kart powertrain designed for young racers starting from the age of six. Available in Bambini and Mini configurations, it combines racing performance with simple operation and minimal maintenance.

The E10 Mini delivers performance comparable to existing Mini MAX categories while introducing characteristics unique to electric karting:

• Instant and smooth acceleration

• Consistent power delivery throughout the race

• No Noise and maximum immersion

• A Boost Button activating an overtake mode that adds an extra element of  strategy and excitement during racing

The E10 expands the Rotax engine portfolio as an additional racing option, running alongside the proven combustion engine categories within the Rotax MAX Challenge structure.

“With the introduction of the E10 Mini category within the Rotax MAX Challenge, we are adding another exciting dimension to our racing program”, said Stefan Gruber, Manager Rotax Karting. “The E10 creates new opportunities for young drivers and organizers while complementing our established combustion engine categories. It’s about offering more ways to experience competitive kart racing.”

RMC Grand Finals Debut in Portimão

With the E10 Mini category joining the 2026 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals in Portimão, Portugal, 36 qualified drivers will compete in a dedicated electric class on equal equipment. This first appearance underlines how electric karting complements the established Rotax racing structure, broadening participation opportunities while maintaining the core principles of fair and competitive racing.
